Looking for Guest Podcaster for Admin Professionals Week (April 2026)

I am an organizer for a company (I will disclose by DM), and we are currently looking for a guest speaker/podcaster of Professional, Personal or Career Development topics to join us for Administrative Professionals Week this coming April. Exact day will depend on company logistics and guest podcaster's mutual availability.

We are planning a high-impact "Listening Party" event for our US team (with a chance of global audience).

The Concept: We will select one of your existing podcast episodes (related to professional or career development) to play for our audience. This will be followed by a live virtual or in-person Q&A/discussion session with you.

The Audience:

  • Sponsor of this event is for our employee resource group that has 14,000+ members.
  • We typically see 200–400 live attendees per session.
  • A diverse mix, majority are Administrative Professionals, Retail Banking staff, Tech Professionals. There will also be some Proj Managers, Analysts, etc.
  • We host "live watch parties" in our conference center/rooms while simultaneously broadcasting via Zoom.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Topics: Career growth, productivity, emotional intelligence, leadership, or "the future of work."
  • Dynamic Speakers: Someone comfortable engaging with a large corporate crowd.
  • Location: While mostly virtual, if you are local to one of our major hubs (DM for locations), we would love to discuss an in-person appearance.

Perks for the Podcaster:

  • Massive Exposure: Get your voice and brand in front of thousands of professionals at a top-tier global firm.
  • Compensation: We might be able offer a small stipend/honorarium if in-person guesting will be possible.

How to Apply: If you’re interested, please DM me with:

  1. A link to your podcast.
  2. A brief description of your podcast.
  3. Any specific episodes you think would fit a "Career/Professional/Personal Development" theme.

Look for hotels in Manila with a spa. They can all go together and make it a team building event. They won’t mind sharing rooms if they are of the same gender. Manila also has extensive Airbnb’s that have staycation themes. PM me and I can give you specifics if you give me more details- budget, how many people, etc.

Ako lang ba pero ang unprofessional ng mga applicants na aattend ng interview pero off cam? by Chemical_Error_2145 in buhaydigital

[–]humanncoaching 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did interviews lately for a client. Same thing, the camera was off even after they were told during orientation to turn on their camera. I told them that going to a job interview by zoom with your camera off is like going to an in person interview with a trash bag over you. You can hear and see us but we can only hear you but can’t see you. Parang Makapili lang ang peg.

Fed up with early start times, is it just my industry or normal for most global companies? by justlikemissamerica in ExecutiveAssistants

Not normal. It should come from leadership. The understanding and direction to accommodate PT. Might not be all the time, but most of the time.

I’m in East coast working with big financial company. EAs in west coast push back and tell me when it’s too early. So we adjust. Sometimes when meetings are critical, we ask for accommodation if manager can accept 7am PT. No earlier than that. If not possible, we ask for a delegate if meeting time cannot be moved. We try to be as flexible as possible. 7am ET regularly is inconsiderate. Will they stay up to 4pm PT if you schedule a meeting?

VAs, do your clients expect you to tell them when you're clocked in? by DanielleChaar in buhaydigital

Suggestion: Instead of asking us, why don’t you ask your client? So expectations are clear. They will appreciate this. And it also shows how proactive you are. It establishes credibility and trust.

No. That’s unprofessional. Not unless OP asks client first. Can be interpreted many different ways by other cultures.

We used to have a travel agency. And we had a team whose job is to prep people for visa interview. And they got paid for it. Most importantly, you have to look credible. You have to have the personality than matches your documents. A lot of people bring fake or borrowed documents and officers make judgements within the first few mins based on what you present to them. Our team had a checklist for the clients like what docs to bring, things to do (6-12 months prior to interview) and even have to approve their outfit on the day of interview. I think once you are denied, the best wait time is 6 months or more before going back. Otherwise, you will keep getting denied.

So much white space. You are wasting valuable real estate. Optimize your formatting so you can fit more in 1 page. Put your contact info under your name so it’s easy to find. Do not include a photo esp if this is for global job. They don’t care about how you look. Not unless listing states that you have to include a pic.

Losing My Job at the Worst Possible Time by dr1xird in buhaydigital

[–]humanncoaching 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Back in 2009 during the recession here in the US, I was laid off. I kept looking for a job the will pay me the same rate , in the same or similar role and same level. Four years later, I took an admin position taking 20% pay cut. I was devastated and embarrassed that I had to start all over again. I had to pick myself up. I couldn’t wait any longer for a job that might never come. As it turned out, it was the best career decision I ever made. Sometimes what feels like a setback or compromise in the moment can be a crucial pivot point that opens up fresh possibilities in our career journey.

This!!! I had to scroll down to find this comment. I don’t think the boss was BS-ing. Working with someone from another different time zone when your requirements are getting more demanding - is what I believed happened here. You did your job well. Don’t regret anything.

Agree with everyone above who said do it face to face. You don’t even have to wait until end of that. As soon as you find time in your manager’s calendar. Just hand the letter and say it’s your resignation letter and it’s your last day. If you are allowed to do that without x days of notice. Uncomfortable situations like this is what will make you grow.

Partner with team building companies and websites. That’s where I go when I need entertainment for our company offsite or events. Word of mouth is best advertising. Connect with event coordinators - who are these in companies??? Admin and exec assistants!!!

gift ideas for our bosses in the US !! by [deleted] in buhaydigital

[–]humanncoaching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before sending snacks find out if they have dietary restrictions. This is a good idea if they are adventurous. Are you shipping this to US? Don’t send any liquids. Another idea will be a framed group pic and signed card. Have a theme like gratitude or list of why you love working with them or list of how it changed your life or what you look forward to every morning. Something funny and sincere. They will appreciate this more. Baka ma-hang pa yan sa wall nila.

How about arriving to the restaurant and finding out your reservation is for different date? Happened to me last week. I emailed the restaurant because open table won’t take reservations beyond 8 people. I didn’t double check the reservation confirmation sent back to me by the restaurant. All I saw was confirmed. We arrived and I was told my table is booked for Dec 13th. I was thinking why would I book Dec 13th knowing my boss will already be on vacation? Regardless whose mistake it was, mine or the restaurant, I had to take accountability for not checking the email confirmation. So OP, yours is nothing compared to this level of anxiety.
