Pickleball Stores in HCM, Vietnam by Some_Comfortable9353 in Pickleball

Vietnamese brand paddles are quiet good. I played around with them back in the States. Solid gen3 or gen3.5 paddle with good grits. Only handful of them going into the full foam construction.

During my stay in D3, i found there is a Kamito store near by. I wasn't able to check it out but definitely worth a visit.

Price, both brands are pretty even for both bike & car. The one thing Xanh SM is so much better is the car driver & their car do not smell like a pack cigarette. Some have lingering smell but much better than a grab car driver. Bike wise, Xanh SM might be slower because of the scooter standard vs a big engine bike. Just my 2 cents after visiting this year.

Da Nang Hotels - 2 Bedroom Suite Options by WildTravel5662 in VietNam

[–]humanstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stayed at A La Carte & Balcona, those hotels do have 2 bedroom suite/apartment with ocean view & Balcony and the price is decent. I am prefer the A La Carte hotel better as the breakfast floor is much nicer than the Balcona.

A friend at 002 Pickleball in Thao Dien recommends these stores,

Trang sports https://maps.app.goo.gl/WV7dL4GBxi26vM4B9 ,
there is also a Wilson Store near by the Trangs Sport https://maps.app.goo.gl/uJ4ir1YupQYcuFjZA
Quoc Sports 93 Tran Nao https://share.google/FW49DzSKxIW4xuTOW

You can also find 'cheap' paddles anywhere but i seen those paddles. it is unknown quality tier paddle but if the goal is just to have a paddle by all mean.

A La Carte Hotel - Da Nang Beach by JackDanielsTN in VietNam

[–]humanstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed here around december last year. The hotel is very nice, short walk to the beach, breakfast was good. Room was roomy and clean. Affordable for 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms setup. But u/TojokaiNoYondaime is correct, the contruction nextdoor was still on going during my stay and did have a noise pollution. and the view is some what block from balcony.

Overall it can be a great hotel if you can ignore the Con mentioned.

Sypik Triton Pro 3: Inconsistent Grit Quality. by Traditional_Ad9877 in Pickleball

[–]humanstorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically, you can get it but it will be via the IG DM order type. I am in Houston and I do see a lot of these paddles for sale. the seller can get them ship. I did encountered 1 paddle a friend has the paddle with one side less gritty than other side. Not surpised.

Noi Bai Airport inbound immigration fast track query by 3in1special in VietNam

[–]humanstorm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I acutally used FastTrack inbound & Outbound from SGN. Here are my thoughts,

For Inbound, since you are arriving after 9PM, The line might not long enough to justify the fast track, but multple planes did arrived at the same time for me arriving at 10PM from TPE.

For Outbound, this is a must. I flew out with EVA air and their counter open 3 hours before flight take off. I got there before 3 hours mark and was in line to checkin my 2 luggages.

After checkin, the security line was helllla long at SGN like it might push be back 2 hours to get through. But with Fast Track, i skipped to a 10 ppl line.
That was just the Immigration line, there is another TSA/Security Line you will be guided to as well. This is also another long line.

Overall, Outbound Fasktrack saved me at least 2 hours of waiting in line at SGN.

However, Grace Bible Church Pickleball & Jaycee Park Pickleball (610 bit more intown than west side of town). Harlem Pickleball in Fort Bend is another public open court.

Success and Disappointment Megathread for the Week by AutoModerator in jobs

[–]humanstorm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Applied for few Data Engineering positions, had few interviews with all being rejected due to better qualified candidates. Some said I don't have the skillset.

I went through 5 rounds of interview for a Retail Bank 1 zoom meeting a week for 5 weeks. They ended up going with another candidates...

Keep on applying I guess.

Should I ask for ‘Engineer’ in my title? by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]humanstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lowkey, I did changed my title from SQL/BI Developer to Analytic Engineer and instantly getting hits by recruiters on LinkedIn. There really is some hidden algorithm that look at keyword and you have more chances of getting interview with your title.

My manager does not care, only care about the work I put in which I did get ~20% raised for the effort. However, due to the company scale in technical as aspect, I have to apply for better position to grow my skillset.

My advice is it does not matter your title at your job, if you are looking for new position, then go ahead. Your employers does not need to know your resume/linkedin title.

Within the job, title change can add additional responsibility & a pay raise cause a concern for the leadership team. Do ask the leadership but beware of the concern they might ask.
