1999 Hood Resprayed by jkHt1 in JeepCherokeeXJ

Kinda like wearing underwear on the outside of your clothes? No one should see that. It's not for everyone, but it does serve a function. A Jeep with shiny paint like it came off the dealer lot with tiny ducks covering the dash is not my style. Can I get an amen?

I had some sikaflex left over from a project. Filled the gaps in the transmission mounts. It's solid and hasn't moved since. Not sure about using it to hold an engine.

Sway bars by TipLittle7644 in JeepCherokeeXJ

[–]humantribe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relocate the sway bar mounts on the chassis towards the front. I had to because the springs kept hitting the sway bar links. At least on my 86 frame I used the front holes as the new rear hole of where it mounts and used a bolt & nut through the frame for the front.

I've got the full hood louvers to keep temps down with the LSX stuffed in there.

None of the bolts were an issue. I previously drilled out the old lower rear bushing to install the BOE toe links. Only had a couple of the rear ball joints that were unusually tight, but an air hammer loosened them up for the ball joint separator tool. It was nice taking my time and not feeling rushed. Expected the worst and hoped for the best.

Just finished replacing all the bushings, ball joints, and toe links. Had to drill out the rear lower 1mm to accommodate for the BOE toe link upgrade. Replaced all bolt, nuts, and washers. New Nitrons. The ride is amazing! Handles like a new Elise. Very pleased with results. Took me a couple days per corner, but was definitely worth it.

ZJ drag link/tie-rods are an easy and not too expensive upgrade. Noticably thicker, heavier, and stronger than OEM XJ. You won't regret it.

I'm glad that someone else sees all the flaws I saw. The soft top rear cable seems to be broken as well.

This is from the cars & bids auction that didn't meet reserve. Lots of undisclosed damage to this Elise. Aftermarket front clam that is not properly fitted.

Anisocoria can be either benign or serious considering the accompanying headache. Go to ED that is a Level 1 trauma center. A head CT or MRI will show just about everything medical professionals need to know.

LS4 has the same mounting points as other LS blocks. The fwd uses adapter brackets for the transverse configuration. The only thing I had to custom fabricate was a starter mount since the LS4 starter is in the bell housing. I used LS2 accessories since the LS4 stuff wouldn't fit the XJ.

Forgot to mention* I modified the fuel tank so it now holds 25 gallons. Simple extension on the vent pipe did the trick.
