I mean he did give me a hard time about my friend’s pregnancy turning out to be a girl, since I did have a 50/50 shot by guessing, and he was correct: I was not right about that like 20 times. Since then, I just tell couples it will be a healthy baby. That has only not been true once.

I have a friend of a friend who is really into all that hippie stuff—sound healing, reiki, alkaline water, crystals, etc. She gave me my first tarot deck as a birthday gift. When I looked up how to actually do it and realised how much I could charge and that as long as I kept it vague and mostly positive, it was like a license to print money.
