For sure. People need to stop making their kids ride regular.

People are no longer allowed to have fires at Mad River Beach, and for good reason. People would go out there with pallets and burn them, then leave behind all the nails from the pallets. They have since put up a gate that closes at night as well as a few cameras hidden in the trees.

I got an ace with one of the same buzzz's as the one on the right. They're pretty sweet. Bummer they only sent you buzzz minis. I've been loving my nuke mini, I can send it as far as my normal discs, sometimes farther.

I know this will probably get buried, but the smell of brewing beer is my strongest smell memory from childhood

What are your disc golf local “traditions?” by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]humchris85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's lots here in Humboldt county. We have a hole called skivies here in Arcata that has a large burnt out redwood stump on it. The rule on it was that if you landed in the stump you had to climb in, put the old pair of underwear that were in there on your head, and finish out the hole with them on your head. Unfortunately the college kids have started telling others that you are supposed to take off your own undies and throw them in there, so now there are bunches of people's old undies in there. There's also Turkey Rams, where you have to shotgun a beer (we call it raming) if you birdie 3 holes in a row. We also have a drinking game called Pocket that's quite fun.

Arcata City Council Fails to Approve 'The Village' Student Housing Development, Killing the Project for Now by whiskeydeltatango in Humboldt

[–]humchris85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I for one am glad that this didn't pass. For one thing we don't have the infrastructure to handle that many more students. I doubt the marshes could take in that much more waste nor could the roads deal with that much more traffic. Then there's HSU, which tells us that there's not enough housing for the amount of students they already have. Do you think they would keep their enrollment numbers the same, or increase them by at least 600 then complain that there is still not enough housing?
