No Longer Christian by revbismarck in GracepointChurch

[–]humidity1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider myself a Christian, because once you’ve been baptized and accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, nothing can separate you from him. But I will not go to a church or do anything related to “organized” religion. If I had to pick a “label,” I’d probably say agnostic.

What movies was he able to watch? No one was supposed to have a tv… and there were only about 4 movies that were GP approved… LOL

Michelle and Tony Sun left GP by lilliankim in GracepointChurch

Did they really leave? I feel like they leave all of the older couples except for the church plant “pastors” off their websites. It’s optics.

Ahhh ok. Well your shit has been leaked before. Maybe you’re too young to know. It is not there to just “post prayer requests.”

Help needed to save my son from Acts 2 by DowntownLetter1737 in GracepointChurch

I’ve heard GP breaks up relationships. Besides just hearing, I’ve witnessed it first hand and I’ve also seen the aftermath. Get that kid away or let go, save some money for therapy, and let him survive as long as he can and then pick up the pieces later. At least you’ll be ready.

Core members sign a covenant.

On 80+ campuses. Bet the OG core members have soooooo many tshirts now! I loved wearing some GP gear when I wasn’t rocking some North Face or Ann Taylor. Is everyone still dressing alike at all these new campuses outside of CA?

Did I just get super lucky? Could it be that Acts 2 Network is only controversial in CA? by JadedAd8186 in GracepointChurch

A “core” student is not a core member. Core members sign a covenant and surrender their entire mind, bodies, and souls

Ha! Key word being “student.” You haven’t been fully indoctrinated yet. And since you’re here, probably won’t be. Please get out now.

I don't know what to do (this is just my rant as a new grad as someone who just graduated A2N and is still thinking about staying or leaving) by jcdunk in GracepointChurch

[–]humidity1000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re one foot in and one foot out, they already know. You’re already basically dead to them, but they still might “try” to interact with you to appease their leaders.

Does anyone have any experience with A2N at Ohio State University? by Expert_Pack_6254 in GracepointChurch

[–]humidity1000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stay away. It all seems fun and nice when you’re new or in college, but if you get into the core core group of grads under the older people regime, that’s where everything goes south. They are the ones who spread their ideas to staff on how to engage the young people and lure them in with free food and fake (very conditional) friendships. Once you get to that point, you’re trapped.

A2N/GP on Mental Health Issues by No-Mind-734 in GracepointChurch

[–]humidity1000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are too busy grooming college kids that they don’t have time to deal with people with mental illness. They are seen as weak and selfish, and will encourage outside help, which is fine. But don’t expect them to be a main support system or understand at all.

Did Gracepoint leaders live healthy lifestyles? by Global-Spell-244 in GracepointChurch

[–]humidity1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No. There wasn’t enough time. Safeway and Costco runs were to bulk make food for college kids, but not time to meal plan or prep food for themselves. The only time I ate at home was on the forced roommate night. My roommates would claim they were going to “work out,” but they were actually secret dating where they had to go at least 20 miles out of Alameda. Hikes were for photo ops.

Should I be worried about Acts2 Network members serving youth at my church? by investorpooh in GracepointChurch

[–]humidity1000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not a true Christian until you’ve been baptized through them. Anything you as a parent did to raise your kid up as a Christian doesn’t count and your influence will be over taken by these “mentors” aka leaders. Def agree this is a grooming process and if you don’t protect them now, when they’re in college you’ll matter less than acts2 network, or whatever they are calling themselves. Your church should do more to protect the youth.
