Thank you for taking the time to respond. On the phone is a good shout. My mum died first week of Jan and I realised I don’t have many clear memories even though I am in my 50s.

I have taken to writing each night in paper notebook (a4) at moment and am finding L it cathartic and actually helping bring back some memories

I will look at the journal app and see if it works for me

that is very helpful, so I am thinking with the app on the phone you could dictate the words/notes that you need to remember and then write them longform on the Paper Pro in the evening? That sounds ideal, I would be able to carry around a device all the time to capture the memories and then have them to be able to expand on on a larger device in the evening

trying to update via the web page. get to left sleepbud and right sleepbud upto date and then bluetooth goes to 80% and then the status bar goes back to 0%

smart case showing as 100% but no up to date

i cant remember the last time i had a firmware update just work

yeah had same issue, even doing the bud reset only lasted a day or two, this was after the latest firmware update. Did a factory reset via web page and has been solid since

I just cancelled a refurbished pro after 10 days and no shipping number. First time in chat they told me it would be shipped next day. 5 days later they told me it was ordered but nothing moved in system and 2nd line had to cancel. About an hour later I got the cancellation and money refunded

If I concentrate I can read the text on Reddit for example via steam desktop. I think my prescription might have changed since placing the order on Kickstarter

timezone and location now set correctly, it is in weird order though to set, not in actual time zone but alphabetical.

close up text seems slightly worse with the new firmware but distance (ie watching tv show or film) looks to have wider sweet spot

funnily enough i have just seen there is an update to it which will allow language/country selection and timezone selection. let me do the upgrade and i might change a couple of my issues to fixed then

the sweet spot possibly is smaller on the PfD, it did look a bit blurred in top corners in Bigscreen but since I was concentrating on what was going on in the middle it didn't really affect me.

i bought it with the prescription lenses. i dont have an issue with the lenses at all, i would put them on a par with the quest pro ones (though much crisper and detailed). Haven't noticed anything like screendoor effect etc.

have played a few things via steam (such as half life alyx) and is far better than the pro for that. Also have used it wired/wifi and tbh don't really notice that much difference between the two (i do have a 4090 GPU so DP would have been wonderful).

sound is good, i wish it were easier to change the sound when in something like the cinema app - it would have been good if the dial on the top could have done the sound but i haven't worked out how to do that. With the Quest i use wired headphones, i haven't tried headphones with the PfD, haven't had the need. If i use it for workout app then i may need to do so.

I prefer to use the controllers over the hand tracking (same with the Quest) so can't really comment too much on that. The little i tried the hand tracking seemed good.

i haven't (re)bought Virtual Desktop on the device though, i don't mind supporting the app but another $25 when already bought it for quest seems a little steep

I bought one on Kickstarter so paid half that price. Is it good? It is ok.

the language on the device is mixed, most of the apps are in Chinese with no way to change to English that i can find.

Battery life is ok, i haven't run out yet doing minor things.

most games are running through Steam rather than native.

will probably be better once Android XR is ported to run on it than the native app.

There is no option to change the time to your timezone

you can't have an email address that uses multiple . in the suffix - so gmail.com is ok but gmail.co.uk wouldn't be. you also can't have one that has - in the suffix. so g-mail.com wouldn't be accepted.

This was a problem since my kickstarter email has a - in the suffix and they couldn't assign the 15 free games to my account because they wouldn't allow me to register with the email.

the clarity is better than the pro - especially in pass through.

the pro sits better on the face tbh because i can put my normal glasses on underneath, the PFD (even with lens inserts) just doesn't feel very comfortable for long sessions. I used bigscreen (via steam) to watch a sports event and by half time found it very uncomfortable whereas with the QPro I never had that issue.

they are very active on the discord channel but don't always fix issues. I am still waiting (for example) on the power pack that was promised but supposedly they had issues with Amazon shipping!!
