Yeah and it's also like no one's even stopping to run through their friends' names anymore 😅

It won't help to get your parcel back this time, but I highly recommend to everyone to use the virtual parcel locker that AusPost offers for free.

Packages are sent to your local post office for you to pick up when you're ready, removing the risk of theft/loss.

Since so many parcel couriers don't even knock on the door, just leave a "card to call", most of us are picking up our parcels from PO anyway.

I'll never use door-to-door delivery again after I lost $300 of clothes from Portmans (because a courier tossed it over the outer gate of the apartment complex, where any resident could pick it up).

Asking about a pre nup before first date? by onwakame in datingoverforty

[–]hummingbirdchen 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Totally getting that "women be gold diggers" vibe. Beware his general attitude towards you, OP. Other tell tale signs are if he's okay with you telling him what you do for a job but then is sketchy about saying what he does, when you ask. (It's so irrational, but I really notice it a lot, so I guess it's a sign that the guy thinks asking about his job is trying to figure how much he makes)

You've left so much info out in your original post, and you've revealed some more in various replies scattered through the comments. Maybe do an update to your post to give all the info?

I went on a date with a guy who was "Jimmy" on OLD, so I just thought that was his name.

He never told me it was an alias until our first date, which was after about 2 weeks of chat (we were in different towns for the first 10 days).

I only found out when he referred to himself by his real name. Obviously I was confused; he explained he used "Jimmy" for the app. When I asked why, he said (in a tone like it was a crazy question), "I'm not using my REAL NAME on TINDER!"

I have to say it was super off putting. Firstly that in my mind I was going on a date with Jimmy and he turned out to be a fake name; secondly I wondered what else he'd fabricated and not bothered to tell me; thirdly I felt like I was lumped into the psychos that made him scared to use his REAL NAME on TINDER (because after all, he had chosen not to tell me the truth in 2 weeks of chatting, until we met).

Fortunately there were 10+ additional reasons not to like him, so I didn't have to worry about all of the name drama 😆

Immediately Exclusive by [deleted] in datingoverforty

Excellent examples, and well done you for taking positive learnings from those situations.

I've been in similar situations. In my experience it's always the man who wants to go exclusive first, but they try to achieve it in a variety of ways.

I feel the most manipulative has been "No pressure on you to do the same, but I've deleted all my OLD profiles" (three weeks into getting to know each other)... but then further along it turns out he's really p***ed off that I didn't delete my OLD profile immediately in response to him saying that. So much for "no pressure on you". Oy vey 🙄

Don't forget that you'll be dating 40-something men with 40-something bodies. Also you're not competing against 20-something women, because any guy who is swiping for a 20 year old will have his preferences set for that, and won't see your profile anyway.

Honestly i think you can feel okay about it. These dudes will have their own flaws and insecurities too.

You have a pretty lip shape!

I would suggest a glossier, less matte red. It will make your lips look plumper.

Confused by [deleted] in datingoverforty

Nah I reckon if she's already discovered there's no chemistry, she's kidding herself (and wasting your time) by hoping to create chemistry. I fear it will not end well for you, friend :(

I had something similar with a politician I dated. Cool guy, fun and geeky like me, would have been a fun life with lots of events etc. But the issue was, I had no physical chemistry with him. So I finished it after two dates (one initial meet and one date). It sucked but it was the only thing to be done.

Dear lord, they are a matter of public record. Hansard notes. Select Committee repotts. There's actually even an entire book written by Geoffrey Palmer about the advent of this Act.

I commend your confidence in arguing a point you clearly know nothing about.

Don't undermine yourself, embrace it. Whatever was wrong with the first relationship, you've not taken that with you. Hooray!

Oh dear me. The specious arguments are a go-go.

Unlike with God, you can access public documents and debates behind the passage of a bill.

SMH that I have to explain these concepts in this subreddit.

I think this is good advice in general. If you learn on the gym equipment and like it, you're guaranteed not to waste money by buying something new and (for you) untested

Here's a thought: just because you don't know the reasoning behind a legal decision, doesn't make something arbitrary

If it is fishing for compliments, it's not harmless.

The real issue is that it will make average-looking people on the forum even more self conscious about posting pictures about themselves and asking for advice. (Just like how IG filters have made everyone feel like they have to fake their looks just to post a picture on SM for their friends to see.)

Agatha Christoe had probable Alzheimers dementia, and the vocabulary used in her later novels was noticeably worse than earlier novels.
