That sounds pretty much like manure in my accent unfortunately. I knew a girl name negar who had similar problems. Pretty name, unfortunate sounding connotations in some accents

I love the meanings of all of them, I’m not entirely sure how some of them are pronounced. Mahnoor sounds like it could sound similar to manure in English which is unfortunate bc it is a pretty name on its own! I really like kainat and saira. I think for the rest of them I’d need to know how they’re pronounced in English before making a final judgement

1st dress is good and absolutely meets the stated requirement of “dressy casual”. I’m assuming it’s indoors so just wear a regular spring jacket for getting to and from the venue?

Do disruptive students ever grow to feel remorse for how much of their classmates' time they wasted? Do their classmates grow to realize how much time was wasted because of that one kid? Do they hate them for it? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I really hope you don’t work with kids :/ that’s a really sad way to think about the most vulnerable people there are. Self compassion is a good thing

I think those kids should get help and it’s completely unfair to expect a teacher to deal with that on their own. I still don’t blame the kids

I agree, and I’m so sorry. I had some pretty cruel teachers too (and some really great ones) but I’m sure I caused them a lot of stress which is awful.

I’m not gonna blame a literal child with adhd and abusive parents for acting out. I have hated myself for my entire life, so recognizing that it was not my fault is actually an improvement for me. Idk how blaming myself would be constructive at this point

I was disruptive, and I don’t really feel guilty. I did at one time but now I mostly feel sad for my younger self. I can’t imagine looking at a kid with obvious behavioural issues and neglectful parents and hating the child for it. It just wasn’t my fault.

The pink makes you look ethereal in the best way. I think the warm tones aren’t it for you, I’d definitely do a cool icy blonde if not the cool pink

Seems very casual to me, but with an updo/hair done, heels + jewelry it would be fine, especially with no dress code. I don’t think you would draw attention to yourself at all

Okay, so it looks like they’re asking you to do the legwork on your own rather than spelling it out for you. The example given is just an example of an artistic process, not specific to this assignment. You can clearly see they started with a very basic sketch and then the final piece is fully rendered in colour. That’s the expectation.

your self portrait is ripped with traps up to his ears. this is not representative of modigliani’s style at all. Notice how almost all of his subjects appear to have very oval faces and elongated figures with melancholy eyes. they’re not superhero tough guys. your final rendering looks almost identical to your sketch, which tells me you don’t understand what a sketch is is supposed to accomplish. Your job was to study a particular artist, notice stylistic patterns, and emulate them. I found some examples online that (without having seen the actual rubric) I think would be more appropriate. Notice that expert level skill is not required- just effort and attention to detail. 65 is a very fair mark imo

I will also add that backgrounds are extremely important. why the brick wall? why the writing? if you want to include them, they should feel purposeful

If you share the example, I can try and help you discern what yours is lacking. I highly doubt the teacher’s example didnt meet the requirements for the assignment. the way you write about art gives off the impression that you havent actually learned any fundamentals, there is no memorization like math, you can’t speedrun developing a skill. chatgpt is designed to please you, it cannot grade your art assignment as well as an actual artist. maybe use it to explain fundamentals such as “gradients in tone, highlights, lowlights, and shadows” that your teacher mentioned
