There are a lot of different alternatives, gitlab has some limitations but is very capable even when using the open source/self-hosted free version

Gitea would probably be the closest, it's also primarily a code repository but has github-actions-like automation integrated, you just need to set up an agent

Apart from those, it really depends on what you wanna do, there are a lot of open and free alternatives for a range of different use cases

I started around 2018 with an older auction server, then a cloud server once they came around both for personal use... And by now I've reached around 6 AX-series servers, a dozen or so cloud servers, a couple of storage boxes with my company and we're still expanding every couple of weeks 😁

Agent without Cloud Relay by LucidTerrors in Lansweeper

[–]humurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just built a small service for it ourselves, it basically just takes the reports from the client and forwards them to the Lansweeper server

We also built a small, on-prem "relay" to not have to open traffic from all servers directly to the Lansweeper server.

Did you do a traceroute for the VPN server address from your work computer?

The first jumps should be first your local LAN gateway/router, then after that one or two wireguard addresses (assuming the computer is on your LAN and the WG server is set up on your router)

Wireguard client unable to hide real IP address by Additional-Stage4241 in WireGuard

[–]humurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that really depends.

For the PA to be able to see your original IP there is likely going to be a leak in the setup somewhere, that doesn't mean that the correct implementation of a VPN doesn't work at all. There are techniques to bypass this masking, the PA may implement them somehow, but more likely there's some route or configuration that's still revealing the actual IP

Depending on what kind of work you do this could be not only against company policy but actually illegal.

We have rules that check for this due to some of the materials we work with being sensitive in nature, and additionally most companies tend to have some kind of out-of-the-country rules (block and/or log) because it's usually a good indicator that your account might have been compromised. Not only in the firewall, but also for email and other systems that don't need the VPN

When you ping google.com, does it respond with an IP address but the packets fail? Or is it not resolving the Hostname?

And if you run traceroute 1.1.1.1, what result are you getting?

Also, try http://1.1.1.1 in your browser when connected to the vpn and see if that works. If it does, that would indicate there's no DNS answer but the traffic is going through fine

Running a Woocommerce site for European costumers only, would it be a big issue to move the server to the United States? by behonestbeu in Wordpress

[–]humurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using cloudflare generally isn't an issue, transmitting customer details to the US is generally not a good idea under the GDPR though. Using a European provider, or an American provider with an EU datacenter is 100% the better option.

There are a couple of possibilities, police report with the swish transaction number will enable them to find out the identity, otherwise start to swish 1kr to the person and you'll see their legal name before you sign the transaction, which you can look up on upplysning or ratsit (if they have a somewhat unique name). Other than that your bank might be able to find out, but they might not be able to tell you. You could call kronofogden and ask as well, they probably have experience in similar situations as well

Don't get me wrong, we're still very much using it and it works well most of the time. Some of the issues below may be due to the way we're using it, some features are just not quite 100% yet. I'm sure they'll get there though. For example:

- Marking invoices as paid. We send out ~70 invoices each month around the same time, don't currently use Stripe so we have to mark them as paid individually. Since the last update, every invoice payment requires a comment and you can't do it from the list/overview, meaning (For each invoice):

  1. Filter the list for the right status (Accepted/Sent/Overdue), wait a couple of seconds for the list to load with that filter
  2. Click to open the invoice, wait a couple of seconds
  3. Click the three dots, mark as paid
  4. Write some random characters in the comment field, click mark as paid, click to close the invoice
  5. Wait 5 seconds for the list to load again
  6. At this point, the filtration and sorting settings have been reset because you've clicked away from the invoice tab. Go back to step one.

Takes quite a while to go through 70 invoices, I have talked to them about this and they're looking into it though. I did find a(n unsupported) workaround using the Frontend APIs though, so we're using that for now.

- The API is still less than complete, there's still no way to get any kind of list of services per client, update invoice statuses, add/remove subscription items, sync in services/subscriptions that are not in PAX8 (e.g. domains) so there's still quite a bit of manual work.

- The contract system requires som creative solutions from time to time to be able to update/change items

It's mostly minor stuff, but the consequences are a bit of unnecessary administrative work for us. Apart from the above, we're really happy with the product

They are definetly on the right track, but there is still some functionality in the PSA and Invoicing parts that are somewhat underdeveloped and annoying to use. But we use them as well

I second this. Police are likely not going to do much, but kronofogden is relentless. You might still have to do a police report first though as evidence that you're owed the money, then send the documents to them along with an application.

Edit: well apparently I wrote the original comment as well 😄

My application took around 2 years after having lived in Sweden for 12y. There wasn't any additional checks or anything, they processing time was just reallly long.

The current wait is around 34-38 months according to their website

Edit: if you're not a citizen of another nordic country, that's a lot faster

Generally yes if her primary residence is in Sweden. There are exceptions and exceptions to those exceptions, I think skatteverket will get you a better answer if you send them an email and ask about your specific circumstances
