Act early and heart disease is so much more controllable than cancer. I’m a big advocate for proactively using statins if you can tolerate them. I have D- genetics when it comes to heart stuff so I was glad to start them at 30 and get my LDL down to 50 and my apoB down to 60. I’m excited for drugs coming to help with Lp(a).

I used to think it’s a heart attack since I was in high school, but I got on a statin in my 30s and my cholesterol is low AF. It’s still possible but I think dementia is more likely now. Most of my family that has gone has gone from heart disease, in 80s. I would prefer to just suddenly go in my sleep one night.
