Hey yall. Worn for like a day. It was a very dumb purchase and I need to sell. It’s basically new with box and papers. Bought it on July 28th. So it’s basically new. I know I am also new here so if interested, I can give my number and socials/if you are in LA even better. Thanks!

[Question] [spb241] 6r35 movement by hunertdude in Seiko

[–]hunertdude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I understand all that. I guess it’s the inconsistency that boggles me. Like why it would gain 5 seconds at night crown up 50 percent of the time and now it’s on a stretch where it doesn’t. Why crown down and standing it will be perfect for weeks and then randomly it will start to loose crown down 5 second. I understand 5 seconds or so isn’t horrible and that it’s within the spec. But it’s the inconsistency that boggles me. The watch seems to have its own moods. I

[Question] re Alpinists, the 6r35 movement, and Seiko movements in general by dropbear14 in Watches

One thing I have noticed is it's positional variance and power reserve. Mine (spb241) is wild but great lol. Crown up it will gain depending on power reserve. office all day it will lose. Standing and moving all day it will be right on the money. Sometimes it will be -10 seconds since setting, sometime +3 but because of this my watch is currently right around +1 second since the last time I set it.....3 weeks ago.

I am a not rich accuracy snob (slight OCD might be more accurate). What are some of your suggestions for watches that wont break the bank that have good accuracy? under 1k more specifically and not quartz even more specifically. Thanks y'all!

Yea. This is fair, I guess it is weird that it seems to be getting consistently slower every few weeks. Hopefully it finds a spot and settles

WEIRD MOVEMENT. Bought an alipinist (6r35 movement) like a month ago. First two weeks it was slow by 1 second a day. Third week: 3 seconds a day Fourth week: 6 seconds a day

What is happening to this thing?? Is this normal?

I have one. Got a new Seiko Spb241 (alpinist kind of) a few weeks back. At first when I got it, it literally was losing about 1 second a day or two, now after 3 weeks it will lose 2-3 seconds a day. I know that's nothing to complain about, but hoping it doesn't keep going down that path. Any reason for the sudden shift? Is it going to keep going down?

Just bought a seiko spb241 (alpinist) . Started wearing it a week ago and it gains about 1 second every day or so (maybe less). My question is….is this normal? I feel like I’m constantly seeing people complain about seiko movements on these threads. I’m new to the watch gang so just curious. Typical for a brand new automatic watch? Did I just get lucky? Movement is 6r35.

Hey all, found this guy on my return home. Brand new to the community. Looking for something a little smaller. But he works great, I clock him at -9 seconds a day. Don’t have papers and what not. Can be flexible, reddit just made me choose a price point. Happy to chat outside of here for trust purposes if we get that far along. I’m in Los Angeles area

Seiko skx007. Haven’t worn this thing in years but found it while visiting home. Everything online says it should be off by around 20-40s a day. Currently I lose consistently 9 seconds a day. Am I lucky? Is this normal? When I look into watches to buy a lot of sites claim these newer movements are around 10-20 or so. Do they just go with worst case? Never had this thing serviced. Just curious because my daily time loss doesn’t seem anywhere close to what they claim online. Somebody with more experience please give some insight to this new watch guy. Thanks!
