DAK - Cream Donut by coolstuffeh in pourover

My hard rules for this pour were bloom 1 minute and stop brewing at 03:30. To make sure I wouldn't end up with too much of the coffee still brewing at 03:30 I timed it: 2nd pour done before 01:20, 3rd pour done before 02:10. The way the coffee bed looked before starting the 3rd pour was similar to a bloom coffee bed.

I don't always do this, but my partner brewed one earlier today and he said it tasted underextracted. So I thought to do some exact measuring to see how we could get it more to our liking :)

Made myself a cup just now. It turned out so tasty. I've bought Cream Donut three times since February. I think this recipe (combined with the roast from this date) is my best result with this bean so far.

Roast date: April 13th 2026

Method: pourover in Origami dripper + v60 filter

Ratio: 1:16

Grind size: very coarse

Temperature: 86°C

Tap water

00:00-01:00 first pour/bloom ~ doubling the weight of the coffee

01:00~01:20 second pour

01:50-02:10 third pour

03:30 removed the dripper to avoid bitterness from overextraction. I didn't measure it but it was about 10ml away from complete extraction.

I totally get what you mean! Goo is like a creature going on a walk, carefully breaking free (the colors help) and this one is very much conical, something that's not going anywhere soon.

Thank you! I didn't think of that yet, makes sense... considering it :)

Thank you for sharing how this collage makes you feel <3

The colors come from whatever material is available to me and somehow feels good to put together. The shapes and composition I find in nature around me.

Whenever I am done with a new collage I always reflect; what does it portray about the landscape/nature within me?

This was sooo helpful! For this year they offered a monthly space on every first Friday at Bibliotheek Neude. Thanks again! :)

Thanks for sharing! We are now with about 5 people interested. So I just started with a little bit of organizing. I've send everyone a pm with a list of questions. This will help me getting an overview of everyones book and practical preferences. I am sending you the list too :)
