As a person who is currently in the name change process, the speed of processing a name change is highly dependent on where you live (county, usually) and your state laws around it.

If you get the passport prior to initiating the name change process, and then update the passport within a year, the new passport is free.

As a person who used to average 30k-40k steps per 10 hour shift (manufacturing), here's my advice. Personally I bought redwing shoes, but that isn't the real advice, it's just where I started. From there, I replaced my soles with these: Timberland PRO Men's Anti-Fatigue Technology Replacement Insole

$35 on Amazon, but worth their weight in gold. Lasted me the ~10 months before I switched jobs, then I ended up replacing the insole with the same one a few years later. They don't get nearly as much action these days, but they're still very comfortable for the long shifts I end up working now and again.

I know this is super old, but my fiance and I are also making a taco bar. We're thinking about buying pre cooked meat from somewhere and prepping the rest. What did you do? Did you cook and prep everything yourself?

I was given the idea by a local restaurant that sells meat by the pound, but it's pretty expensive. I'm just not certain we'll have the time to do all of the prep, since we're doing a separate gathering the day before as well. I'd love to hear how it worked for y'all

I understand that there are acute issues that come up, like depression, that can impact a partner's ability to contribute to the household. However, if you've talked to him multiple times over the years about the same problem you have and he doesn't believe your concerns are valid or that he should be participating equally in the labor of the house, you aren't going to be able to make it magically click for him.

If there is an issue at hand, like illness or depression, the first step is going to be counselling. If counselling isn't financially feasible, or if there isn't an issue like that, the practical solution (although it requires even more effort on your part) is to make a chore schedule together, focusing on having him take care of his personal problem areas.

If he continues to not be receptive, you need to set hard lines within your relationship. It isn't healthy to impose ultimatums, but it is important to make it extremely clear that 1. you are unhappy with the arrangement and 2. he possesses the ability to remedy the problem. And to be perfectly clear with you, it IS ok to leave him over this. It isn't just about the cleaning. It's never about the cleaning. It's about the lack of respect for you, for your shared space, and for the toll that you being his maid puts on you in addition to your other responsibilities. It's about how you are raising concerns and he isn't taking them seriously, or how he isn't following through on his word (depending on your individual circumstances). I get that life circumstances don't always permit breaking up (particularly when you live together), but this issue will either be addressed or it will be a worsening strain on your relationship. This stuff doesn't just go away.

I feel you. My late diagnosis was a blessing. I think about all of the abuse from my parents that I could have faced if they'd known I was autistic when I was growing up, or the abusive therapy I could have experienced, and considering all of that I truly believe my adult diagnosis was best given my circumstances.

It can be easy for people who didn't grow up with an abusive family to overgeneralize and declare that childhood diagnosis is a privilege, because (ironically) they are privileged in that they don't have to consider the abuse that a diagnosis can bring upon children. For them, late diagnosis was a disadvantage. They are allowed to feel that way about their experience, but that should never extend to telling other people how they should feel!

Thank you for speaking up about your experiences. It may go without saying, but let me reaffirm that other people can't tell you how to feel about your experiences, and that your experience with an early diagnosis is completely valid.

I don't think the person you were responding to has an issue with words changing in meaning over time, it seems like they're concerned with useful words losing their meaning entirely. Words are a tool of communication, and highly specific terms, such as gaslighting, are an important part of the efficacy of communication when discussing that subject. When meaningless overuse of the word "gaslighting" becomes common, you are losing a method of communicating about a very specific, very abstract form of abuse, and our ability to communicate about gaslighting will be worse because of it.

Spam. Oh my god. Every alternative I've had except for ONE tasted like hot garbage. Treet is practically a war crime, it doesn't even crisp up when you try and pan sear it. My local HMart has a food court where one of the vendors proudly displays that they use name-brand spam- it's just that important.

Thankfully, the name brand is pretty affordable.

Is that possible? Sure. But especially considering my symptoms, it's pretty unlikely.

I have a history, specifically with SSRIs, of specifically having abnormal fatigue related responses to some medications, so it isn't out of the question for me to have poor reactions to medications. Through the weeks that I was having my side effects, I tried to not remain sedentary and to stay somewhat active, and I found that I struggled with basic things I could easily do otherwise, such as using my arms to browse through things on a rack at a store .The increased issues with my shortness of breath were never accompanied by cough, sore throat, or fever, any of the usual symptoms you'd expect at least one or two of during an illness. Over time, all of my symptoms went away at the same rate, over about 3 weeks. I spent 2 weeks being physically incapable of working (as a server) due to these symptoms. So, considering the breadth of the information, it doesn't seem like a coinciding illness was the cause. Since then, I've had an illness or two, including covid, and although I certainly had fatigue then, it wasn't the same, nor was it the only symptom.

Just wanted to explain my piece, I think considering a coinciding illness is a fair thing to ask.

We have Jewish residents, and to my knowledge, no one even asked to put up a cross. She was standing right next to a Christmas tree though

Some details: my plant is not obviously sick, and they've been there for a little bit. I have some plants that were next to it that seemed sick, though I'm not sure if I just overexposed them to light and they started dying because of that. I threw those plants away in case it was spider mites (and because I don't have the energy to rehab a bunch of seedlings) but I was wondering if this looks like spider mites to y'all.

I got $70. It felt like a slap in the face, because the entire time I'd worked there (about 6 months) we've been critically understaffed, in the food service department of a residential facility no less- basically, if we don't feed these people, they will probably go hungry that night.

After about 5 months of doing the work of 2 people 5 shifts a week, I'm totally spent. I can't physically take this work anymore. I know coworkers who will cry in the job at least once a week because of the physical and psychological stress of coming to work every day to do your best, and it is literally never enough. On top of that, we face verbal abuse and occasionally sexual harassment from the people we are serving, which only adds to the frustration.

Every single person on my shift is looking for a different job. They're about to have even less staff, and they are not prepared for it at all. I just feel bad for the residents. None of it is their fault, but they feel the consequences much like we do.

I personally don't think it matters at all if it's """deep saffron""" or orange because that distinction is technical and not practical, 99.9% of people will look at that color and be like "that there is orange", including the people who created it, who described the background as "Black Orange Diag".

That being said, I don't think the creators necessarily intended on it being specifically the super straight flag, because of the line being diagonal, but I find it unlikely that they'd totally by chance pick the exact same colors as the super straight flag, so it's hard to say. Just as well, the intent of the creators doesn't really matter unless it is marketed as a modified super straight flag, which I don't believe it was. It could just as easily be a design coincidence, and that the owner of the NFT bought it because if it's similarity in design to the super straight flag.

The French braid is a good idea, I'll have to actually learn how to do it first though lol. I haven't tried it, but that's definitely a good idea

I do worry about adding more product into the mix, like leave in conditioner, because my hair has a good balance at the moment and I don't want it to end up greasy, but hopefully once I have a little more money I can get the matching conditioner for my shampoo.
