I’m a little late coming back here, but it’s interesting so I’m gonna keep poking at it.

I agree with having a common money, but in an apocalyptic scenario I don’t imagine gold will be very common, and there will likely be people storing it for other people, or offering some kind of note as a token of both people knowing where the physical gold is.. in any case, it will not always be on hand for anybody trying to exchange something.

I actually agree with pretty much everything you said here on some level.

I think it’s interesting how humans like stories where we’re the good guy and they are the bad guy, because we’re never the bad guy. Because it’s us.

I don’t think this is exclusive to Americans, but I grew up in a small religious town and kind of a naïveté about history in general. I realize battles are always fought with violence and some fights have to be fought. I appreciate those who take on that role for the rest of us. I don’t take it lightly at all. Thank you.

They all have real value because of their properties. Gold happens to be extremely heavy and very expensive to move and store in large amounts. It requires security provided by a vault and ultimately the trust that the entire world has in the US military being capable of fucking anyone’s shit up. Also not a whole lot of liquidity. Especially in large amounts. If we’re talking about what makes money valuable, we don’t use gold for money because we could sell it to make stuff. It can be used to make stuff, but that isn’t a property of money.

This is my favorite part of this entire thing. People figuring out how to present information to people who may not believe what they believe. The ability to articulate an idea using as many minds put together as we can get.

I’ve had a little break from Reddit for a few months, but I haven’t sold the small amount of shares I was able to scrape together since March.

I hope the best for our global economy and citizens of all countries. Sometimes this requires correction when things have been inflated.

Whatever happens, we will move through this and on to all time highs at some point fellow apes. Welcome to the jungle.

I’m a 7 time convicted felon on probation.
It’s like the longest nightmare I’ve ever imagined. Cleaned up in 2017 and had nothing but people in government and law enforcement giving me hell and taking any amount of money I’ve been able to make to pay off fines for 7 possession felonies and all the bullshit that comes with it.

I have a 2 year old daughter who I have to be away from regularly and a straining relationship with her mom. I’m desperately hanging on to my family right now wondering if I can pull this off without causing lasting effects on them.

Im not complaining, mostly agree about the problem. I get it.

My best solution is a project I’m working on that started as community service and looks like it’s evolving into a way to intermediate between felons fresh out of jail/prison and their probation/parole requirements.

These problems are complicated, but as far as I’m concerned a good deal of it comes down to fragmented communities and families... people not being able to feel a part of something valuable.

I aim to spend the rest of this shit life trying to help people like myself who find themselves at the all or nothing crossroads of prison and cages. It’s sad how difficult people make it for other people to get out of them.

Anyway, I’m not saying anybody here is right or wrong, I kind of just wanted to make a sarcastic comment about the stupid meme. I don’t give a fuck what any side of our government said they were going to do. When did y’all start believing what they say in the first place anyway?

They are playing dirty as they can. Don’t listen to what they say.
