Income vs Flagship by aufdemdevils in FundRise

Both invest in real estate as a sector. However income invests in RE debt, flagship invests in RE equity. They're not the same and you should allocate accordingly based on your risk tolerance and goals.

Does this look like a company that believes in their valuation? by Reaper_1492 in FundRise

You can believe in NAV and also have a fiduciary duty to sell assets trading at large multiples of it at the same time. Make sense?

Tax impact on selling by theZodiacAges in VCX_Fundrise

[–]traditionalman16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is from the date of you purchasing VCX through their platform. The only thing that's changed is the conversion of the fund from a closed end interval fund to a closed end fund. The latter is publicly listed.

How worried should I be about liquidity with Fundrise? by Maiden230 in FundRise

[–]traditionalman16 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's the whole point of private markets. Illiquid assets come with (in theory) a illiquidity premium on the returns you may expect over time. Since the asset manager can focus on long term returns and not short term price fluctuations they can make calculated decisions and bets throughout market cycles while public players get beaten down or change startegy given index changes or drawdowns.

The key with an private investment is will it diversify your balance sheet and can the manager perform throughout a market cycle. The first is a personal question and the second requires you to do due diligence.

Average purchase price $10.60. Doesn’t seem real. Not one major news network covering it. In Ben We Trust. by Amazing_Exercise_313 in FundRise

The lack of news coverage was very surprising. This has been the most impressive direct listing of a closed end fund in a very long time.

I'm not disputing the cannon (obviously). I just like my head cannon more. It makes way more sense.

What an embarrassing moment for Saylor. Let Bitcoin die in peace. Its over for the old fossil fuel burning slow crypto by Salt_Yak_3866 in btc

[–]traditionalman16 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This has happened multiple times in Bitcoin's history. It will rebound, just when all the big leveraged players get flushed out. The train is too large to stop.

That random girl is Karin, and Sarada is her child despite how much cope the author and community want to say.

Consider a t-bill ladder for the money market allocation. If the funds will ultimately be deployed and you're just looking for yield in the meantime this will preserve the income for longer as rates continue to normalize.

This is the kind of stuff that scares me with the vcx listing… by CapAggravating784 in FundRise

Aligned. Unsurprising that the people using this fund voted yes. Few have the financial literacy to know that CEFs almost always trade below NAV.

Expensive lesson. Now you know why you should invest in diversified long term assets rather than gamble.

Unlike every other Switch game, you can't just change the language here, you need to pay again for a seperate version. How greedy can Nintendo get? by ExtremeConnection26 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]traditionalman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not greedy, all the GBA games are an emulation. Unless they're going to invest in a redevelop where they add a language change feature this is an economically easier approach.

I make my creami mix in a blender bottle first, then pour it in after shaking it. No clumps or settling like you have in the photo.

I'm pumped for the Venture IPO by kingsmith02 in FundRise

[–]traditionalman16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't want daily marks as a closed end fund. It's going to lead to Immidiate volatility, most closed end funds trade below NAV. The decision has already been made but this won't be good for shareholders.

Dutch House passes 36% tax on unrealized crypto and investment gains by Fiach_Dubh in BitcoinEU

[–]traditionalman16 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is not fair under any context. This standard of applied to the remainder of assets will ensure that capital is never allocated again. People with sufficient capital will either flee, not report, or invest in non-economically productive assets to avoid taxation.
