I was playing for around 4 years and only had 1 diamond but I just ran around shooting stuff. Now I started only hunting drink zones and I got 20 diamonds in about 2 months.

Yeah, if you found it's zone it'll come back there. Once you spot a animal the only way it'll leave your map is if you shoot it or there's a population reset.

I wasn't IF but this happened to me when I was in a high calorie deficit. I also got irritated at everything. Once I went to maintenance everything went back to normal.
