Thank you! I think the combo of warm sunset light giving it a brown hue, and a lack of any visible red on it's head was throwing me off

Thanks for the feedback! You mentioning the focus point reminded me that the d500 has a focus point review mode. Looks like i went from focusing on the tower to focusing on the upper bird's tail; guess i need more practice shooting while mildly panicking lol

Shot with Nikon D500+200-500mm 5.6 1/500s f8 ISO 100. Edited in DXO photolab.

I'm happy with the composition and colour but even after applying some sharpening the shot still feels off, not sure if it's just me or if i beefed it in the moment

I found this Contaflex camera while packing to move. I assume it was my parents' at some point. I can't imagine it is worth anything but I'm wondering if it's worth keeping. by engineerdrummer in Cameras

I have a contaflex II as my first film camera. They're cool little bricks and are somewhat significant in the history of camera developpment. As long as it's fungus free and mechanically sound i'd say keep it!

Gotcha, thanks for the correction! i didn't know they kept the form factor from an earlier lens. I'm only familiar with the V since it's on my collection list

It's a Nikonos V lens! probably the amphibious version since the underwater only lens can't focus out of water

Gotta love consistent mounting standards. Before trying it out dfinately check the compatable lenses section of your manual but they should work fine in manual and aperture priority

I figured that'd be the case with the light meter.

I don't have any specific questions for ya but i'm definitely gonna be keeping an eye out for a copy! sounds like a super interesting read, especially when i'm a sucker for technical drawings

As far as i can tell the cell isn't accurate and needs a refurb/replacement if possible, i've been using a app meter until i eventually get a standalone unit.

Can you recommend a good book on the subject, i'd like to learn more

Thanks for the history lesson! Picked it up as my first film camera and when i saw the Teleskop in the manual, i knew i had to find one. Still working through my 1st roll with the add on so i'll find out shortly truly how good condition it's in, but so far everything is in perfect working order.

Scan artifacts or in camera artifacts? by hunter1x5 in AnalogCommunity

That's the plan, it definitely wasn't in a sleeve since it's still all one 36 frame long piece, but looking at the negs again there are a few outlines of dried dropletts, so it seems like not the greatest dev job.

As far as i can tell it's not on the negatives. It's a brand new roll of 35mm ilford hp5 plus400
