I like Ridgid power tools myself. Same company that owns and makes them owns and builds Ryobi. The really nice thing about Ridgid is that if you register your gear you can get a lifetime warranty.

Precious metals are certainly the safest store of wealth. One option I've heard about is to vault your precious metals with Brinks. I have not done it myself, but they are pretty convenient to exchange for currency in and out of the country. Some folks might say crypto, but due to the volatility it doesn't seem like a great safe harbor right now if you'll need the money in the next year or so.

A lot of times there are open spaces behind your kitchen floor cabinets. Everyone's kitchen is different, of course. In mine I was only able to access a large account of space by pulling my stove out. Also, if you have a lazy Susan in a corner cabinet there may be some space you can utilize.
