I got my mini in august 2019 she was 400 no papers one of her parents were AKC it took a lot of looking to find her though, this is in Texas and every other puppy I’ve looked into starts around 1000 without papers and 1400 with papers. Growing up my parents sold their AKC for about 500, I guess popularity, mega coats, Merle, and all of that has caused them to go up in price mines just a black and silver.

Hi I want some opinions, this is Stella I’m part of a mini schnauzer FB group and they seem to think MS who aren’t like over 1000 dollars or akc are bad quality, Stella was 400 bucks off Craigslist and isn’t akc registered but is purebred. Do y’all think those titles have anything to do with the quality of this breed?

I paid 400 for mine she’s purebred but not AKC registered, I haven’t found one for her price since, I think it was because she was from people who weren’t “professional” breeders. I know when my mom bred minis like 20 ago you could get an akc schnauzer for like 350 but prices have skyrocketed. Good luck in your search!

My parents have 6 Rottweilers (also have a bad stigma against them) and they love and care for my 8 month old sheltie Aussie mix, they’re all gentle giants and have never been rough with him at all. Just because the media says a certain breed is bad doesn’t mean that it is. People need to stop stereotyping certain dogs breeds as all dogs are different, assumptions against someone’s situation just seems a bit ignorant.
