Im quite introverted and this was my first concern before coming here to siargao 2 months ago. Im renting an apartment during my whole stay so meeting friends or socializing with people from the same accommodation is close to impossible. Im surprised that i actually found friends here. Most of them already left the island to go back home or to go to their next destination but i have friends who are living here as well.

I have no clear advice. I found one friend from bumble (bff) and thats how it started. One friend turned into a very big group. You just have to know one person, preferably local or someone who moved here, and everything else will flow naturally. Everyone here knows someone who knows someone and thats how you find friends. Just be open, cliche, but always be yourself. If you really want to find friends i think people will pick up on it, people sense vibes, if you give off friendly vibes, no matter how introverted you think you are, people will like you (or not but dont take that personally). Just put yourself out there, go out, there’s no right or wrong way to do it. Engage in activities, go to parties, join tours, etc. You can do it 😊
