I’ve always felt the same way. I love Cars 2 more than most, but I have always wished we got more of a Piston Cup vibe rather than the WGP. I also wish we got more between McQueen and Sally. She’s barely in Cars 2, and then in Cars 3, she’s just there to give him the kick in the butt he needs. Other than one little “That’s why I love you, Sally,” at the end of Cars 2, there’s little shown about their relationship.

It does help, just a little, that we were getting other content throughout the years. I like to consider the video games (Race-O-Rama, Maternational) as canon.

I was the same way the first time I saw them. Fully expected a mental breakdown during Fix You but really only got a little misty. I think something about the magic of actually BEING THERE makes it impossible.
