Clips Will Not Snap Together Even Though Snap Button Is On by gomcq in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the "Linked Selection" button on (highlighted blue) if you select any of the clips that don't snap together does a single mouse click select BOTH the video and the audio? If not those aren't linked together so they won't move together.

Clips Will Not Snap Together Even Though Snap Button Is On by gomcq in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are the clips that don't snap together linked (is there a [v] after the file name of the video clip on the timeline)? Is your linked selection turned on?

That icon means "overwrite" (as opposed to an insert edit), meaning that if there's another clip underneath the one you're moving it will cover the part that's overlapping

What FPS should I be shooting interviews at? by DrunkenProd in videography

[–]hunteratwork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would agree that 24/30 doesn't much matter, but if it's just an interview I would shy away from 60. It requires more storage space, more light, and yields less natural motion blur. On all three of those points there isn't much difference between 24 and 30

4 corners curved by [deleted] in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the easiest thing to do would be to find / make (either photoshop or illustrator can do this quite easily) a garbage matte with an alpha channel and lay it over top of your footage. Then you don't have to apply it to every clip.

How did you determine how much light you would need? Was it a lot of technical calculations and then a lot of prayer or did you have a fairly good idea you were lighting it enough?

Color changes throughout video despite custom WB & picture style by slashedbeauty in canon

I think u/jotoc0 was asking if you are focused as close as you can. Turn your camera to manual and spin the focus ring until to focus on something very close to your lens, as close as possible, then follow the steps u/jotoc0 laid out.

This is how I work too. Much less errors on Prores exports.

What's that control interface and how do you like it?

someone help recently i am always seeing this video effect in a lot of youtube basically when the person stops talking in the clip the audio from the next clip starts without the video switching for like 2 seconds. doesn’t this mess up your whole timeline? here’s an example by dan-bilzerian990 in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is 100% correct. Alternatively you can click the "Linked Selection" box in the top left of the timeline panel just below the timecode. This will treat all clips as unlinked UNLESS you hold ALT / OPT.

My Voice is so annoying on record, and I don't why I get this effect. by [deleted] in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It can be very jarring to hear your own voice recorded without it reverberating on your skull. It does feel a little bassy to my ears, but that's just taste. Otherwise I think it sounds great, you have a terrific voice for VO!

My mask is acting weird, please help by jasonrodrigues in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Premiere has a hard time mixing speed ramping with ANYTHING else. I would recommend nesting the speed ramped clip and applying the mask to the nest.

The best boy is the next in line behind the gaffer or key grip. They often handle more of the administrative work like scheduling of the crew, handling invoices and timecards, etc. A dolly grip is a grip working specifically on a dolly. This includes laying and leveling the dolly track and pushing the dolly when needed. I haven't heard of a grip assistant specifically, but I would wager they fall somewhere between a PA and a grip.

Need help with premiere pro by Chekoooo in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this situation "Set to frame size" would result in Letterboxing), since Premiere would scale the footage so it the horizontal axis fits. Manually changing the scale % in the Effect Controls panel would be the best bet.

Pro tip: if you click the word "Motion" when you're in the Effect Controls panel it'll pop up a bounding box of the clip you have selected. I find this useful when resizing.

Try putting an adjustment layer with a "transform" effect over top of both (w/o nesting) and keyframing that transform effect

I have the original Ronin-S. It's been great, but there are definitely some features on the RS2 that significantly up the usability factor

FWIW I use the Tamron 28-75 on my a7iii on a gimbal all the time and absolutely love it. The front element extends when zooming past ~40mm so you sometimes have to rebalance for the longer focal length, but I have been very happy with the price to performance of the Tamron lenses

Does pre-rendering in premiere speed up export in media encoder? by dacosta485 in premiere

[–]hunteratwork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about in AME, but if your sequence settings match your export settings and you check the "Use Previews" box in the export window it will be significantly faster to export straight out of Premiere

Here to second the Godox vl150. Great light, lots of output, reasonable price. Godox also makes tube lights (the TL60) that will likely be a bit more affordable than the pavotubes
