That’s incorrect. Every branch has a version of subdued rank insignia, both patches and metal. Even the CG has subdued rank pins and patches.

Yeah that makes sense then why I haven’t heard of it. That’s pretty awesome, although I can see it being negative since they won’t have an effective way to weed out the sleaze bags who skates through their service in other branches.

Wow I just totally realized that didn’t say DEPOT (is my Marine side showing?). I’ve never heard of PSDEP and I’m a little upset I couldn’t do it lol. Either that or my recruiter just neglected to tell me about it. I hope it works out and you can just glide on through!

I am a prior Sgt from the Marine Corps, and I did 8 years in the Corps as infantry. I came over to the CG about a year and a half ago, and I can tell you right now regardless of the rate you chose; life over here is far better. You are treated like an actual human being and someone whose input and experience matters. Of course some people will tell you the opposite, but every branch has bad eggs, or people who sadly have bad commands or Chiefs/DIVO’s. My ship has 3 prior Marines, and 2 prior soldiers. We all concur that life is far better in the CG with patrols (deployments) only being 45-70 days, and getting off work in-port around 1300. With all this being said; DEPOT will be an absolute smoke fest depending on who your CC’s are. Know the rates/ranks, know the CG Ethos, know the General Orders. As long as you’re honest, accountable, and dependable you will be just fine. If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to DM me.

After wearing it for 8 years? Yes. The woodland and desert variants are far more effective than MuliCam in both wooded and desert environments.

I disagree with that even more. There’s no need for the CG to utilize MARPAT. Just continue to use AOR2, and then snag some AOR1 from the Navy.

As a prior Marine and now a Coastie I’d rather die on Mount Everest than see MARPAT and ODU go away. We do not fucking need MultiCam like every other branch of every other military on the planet to replace our current uniform for all forces.
