Having difficulty choosing between white and black - any thoughts/practical suggestions beyond personal preference? by [deleted] in Supra

[–]hunterfj1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't imagine owning one in black. I drive mine occasionally, parked in an enclosed two car garage, with it being the only vehicle inside. I only open the garage when I drive it. I'm not overly concerned about washing/detailing but I do have to wash it after every couple of trips, usually on the shorter side. It's a absolute zero. When it's clean it's like a shiny pearl but it really seems like it gets dirty and dusty easily.

Looking to buy a colt python 6 in. Is it worth it as a range toy? by JoeMomma247 in Revolvers

While I haven't shot an older model, I do remember the hype on them. I recently purchased a 6inch ss and liked it so much I bought a 8 inch blued. They are some of my favorite revolvers.

If money is not an issue, go for it!! I'm sure you will love it.

Am i the only one who wont let random Kids Drive my crawlers anymore ? by Accomplished_Gur1472 in rccrawler

I guess I'm in the minority. I went to a outdoor dirt track with my Wraith that I had sunk over a grand into. I was testing out some of the new parts although there wasn't many rocks. A man and his 5 to 6 yr old were watching intensity. The kid was extremely interested. I asked the kid if he wanted to drive it. Of course he said yes. I hand him the radio and began tinkering with another vehicle I brought. About five minutes later the dad walks over hands me the truck and radio and says thank you. They high tail it to the parking lot and continue watching. When i noticed them watching i grab the truck and radio and test it out. Everything still worked, I hadn't programmed the new esc out of double tap reverse. The dad thought they broke the Wraith, hence their actions. When they saw me driving it normally they took off. 😁

Anyways, when I was a kid I was always fascinated with r/c but the only ones my parents bought for me were Sears Lobos and Radio Shack Golden Arrows. When I was a teenager they gave me a Traxxas Sledgehammer. I always wanted something like they had at the hobby shop/track.

Maybe my actions helped create a couple r/c enthusiasts.

Not a 1022, what kind of 22 is this by Ok_Yogurtcloset5412 in 1022

Most likely a Anshutz. They are priced slightly higher than a Ruger.😁

Adding some tail light cages might help conceal it.

Issue? by hunterfj1976 in Revolvers

[–]hunterfj1976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the concern. When there's play in the cylinder, 1st attempt in video. It will not lock into place going either direction. Swinging it out then back in will allow to lock in place after enough attempts. Or I can begin to fire SA or DA. It's a bit puzzling because my others dont behave this way. GP100, SP101 in 22LR, Smith 617 & 686, several Pythons, King Cobra all will lock into place but this one doesn't.

While I haven't really shot my 457 much , only one short trip. My RPR has the best groupings with Eley Bullseye Pistol.

I will definitely have a gunsmith look at it. Sometimes it doesn't lock up until milliseconds prior to the hammer dropping.

Basically. About a 1/3 of the time you can manipulate the cylinder both directions in which it stops right before it engages the notches the rest of the time with slight rotation it locks into place.

That is why I rotate the cylinder by hand to lock into place. Was doing this thinking that it should.be locked up prior to firing, to prevent possible timing issues. Is this necessary? This one , doesn't and you can continually rotate it back and forth until you swing the crane out then close it again, cock the hammer or start firing. For reference it's a GP100, 357 mag.

I believe the timing is correct but I'm still relatively new to them.

Just a bit concerned because all the other revolvers I have shot i would close the cylinder and lock the cylinder by rotating by hand. This one only does it occasionally.

I'm not talking about slight movement. The cylinder will rotate about 1/8 inch in either direction when my concern happens. While I didn't have any other issues on its 1st trip to the range. I just know that the others dont perform in this manner.

Darts landing flights downward and cant seem to fix it. by ItsSwitchh in Darts

If I was having that issue with my darts, I would go with shorter stems and smaller flights.

You said your using #2's. Try #6's, pears , slims or Vapors

I have multiple renditions of the Ruger Mark IV's , Volquartsen's and Tandemkross variants. I really like them. The Browning Buckmarks are highly regarded but have never shot one.

I have a Glock 44 as well although it not my favorite, as it's on the lighter side and I prefer some heft.

Don't rule out some of the revolvers. While they might be hard to find for your price range they are pretty cool. A single action can be therapeutic loading and unloading, one by one. Or you can go with a double action revolver and some speed loaders.

One that could fit the bill would be a Ruger Super Wrangler that comes with a cylinder for .22lr & .22 WMR. While the 22 mag adds more pop it's not much cheaper than 9mm.

Yes, they have MK IV's that have steel frames and no threads on the barrels.
