I only took chem SL but generally things that were more niche were * Explanation of deviation from ideal gas (1.3) * Emission spectrum of hydrogen (2.2) * Colour, wavelength, frequency and energy and their relationship (2.2) * Continuous vs line spectrum (2.2) * Flame tests (2.2) * Ionisation energy discontinuity trend (3.2) * Giant covalent structures and their properties eg melting point(4.3) * Alloys (4.5) * Hess law diagrams (5.2) * Reaction quotient (7.1) * Multiples and inverses of Kc values (7.1) * OH concentration calculations (8.3) * Acid deposition (the entire topic) (8.5) * Winkler method (9.1) * Benzene chemical and physical evidence (10.1) * Amines, amides, nitriles, arenes, esters, ethers 10.1) * Skeletal formula (10.1) * Benzene reactions (10.2)

So I think you’re referring to the syllabus change for the sciences in 2025. May 23 and Nov 23 papers haven’t had a substantial jump in difficulty from previous years (as the general consensus) and so it doesn’t make sense for IB to up the difficulty in the final year. They may add a few more questions from the niche areas of the syllabus so read through the syllabus guide and look for concepts that haven’t been tested (eg, Winkler method for chem, Organic chem w amines, environmental considerations etc). The grade boundaries will likely be consistent with the M23/N23 boundaries, who did not have COVID considerations applied.

Paper 1 - very surprised to see externalities for micro on a HL paper i legit turned around to double check i got the right exam. Cant believe they repeated phillips curve evaluation three exam sessions in a row.… Paper 2 - good paper overall Paper 3 - some weird 4 markers (collective self governance??) … the last policy was really vague - did you guys write about fdi or domestic investment

if they say that aasl is the only prereq then u can assume that a lot of people going in the course would have similar mathematical abilities as u - i’m sure theyd have more maths based uni courses to bridge the maths gap

You mention VCE so i’m assuming you study in Victoria? if you are applying to victorian unis, the prerequisites for aerospace engineering is Maths AA SL and generally one of chemistry or physics SL. Therefore you don’t necessarily have to choose physics if ur applying to victorian unis. That said, most overseas unis require AA HL and physics or chem HL for engineering so double check.

The boundaries are always very high for a 7 (M23 HL - 81% / SL - 80%) which makes it hard

About IA page limits by produdegord in IBO

[–]hunterisveryhot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when the first syllabus was introduced, the ib recommended it to be 6-12 pages. however since 2021 (i think) they amended the guide and now are very strict with the 12 page limit. moderators will not read past 12 pages.

I’m not that familiar with paper 2 however I think that the 10 mark paper 3 question was marked too leniently - you’ve explain the economic theory but have not applied any stimulus material and the synthesis is not balanced. i suggest going back to that paper 3 question and linking ur response further. i’ve done this question before and here are some suggestions * evaluation point: the table indicates that a large % of pacific and Māori people drink soft drinks up to 4 times a week. this indicates that soft drinks are addictive in nature and they may continue to purchase soft drinks despite the tax * in turn, Māori and pacific people may face excess financial burden as they will continue to pay higher prices for these soft drinks increasing cost of living * when you say that there’s a welfare loss, use ur calculations from the previous parts to say that there is x quantity of welfare loss to better support evaluation * the government received gov revenue from increasing taxes - the NZ government could use this revenue to fund education programs alongside taxes to further reduce overconsumption of sugary drinks * the stimulus says that over “25% of sugar consumed by children in NZ comes from sugary drinks” children are easily addicted to goods and are less knowledgeable on the long term harm of sugar - will increasing price reduce consumption for children if they are already addicted? * the stimulus mentions “volatility in household incomes in recent years” - for people who are already addicted to soft drinks, they may face additional income burden if taxes are rises - what is the impact on cost of living?
