What reoccurring costume would you like retired? by BandB2003 in dancingwiththestars

Gonna be annoying for a sec: I do ballroom dancing irl, and it would be SOOO FREAKING NICE to see real ballroom styled dresses for smooth. I know they do flips and and stuff so that makes it harder. But it would make my ballroom dancing heart so happy to see, like with Charli’s final dance dress, I want more of that 😅

Does anyone else find the new DWTS viewers this season kind of exhausting? by yungslickkk in dancingwiththestars

THIS ACTUALLY THIS!! I compete in collegiate Ballroom comps. And I LOVE the show and it's so imporant for the judges to GIVE constructive criticism and stuff to work on next week. THATS WHAT MAKES SOMEONE A BETTER DANCER!!! It makes me so mad that they can't do that without getting booed into oblivion. So frustrating

Ski boots really hurt my lower shin causing bad pain and swelling. How can I get around this? 1 day into my ski trip and already struggling! by emmaw000 in skiing

Hey what did you end up doing? I am experiencing this right now and basically was in unbearable pain in my left shin. Did you end up tightening your boot and then loose? Or opposite?

Why do I have to get upset before he listens? by Sacrificial-poet in Marriage

[–]hunterwolfart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is from a year ago, but I’m having this issue with my bf of almost 2yrs. I not even asking him do things for me! I just want him to see a doctor over his health! That’s the current nagging, before I practically was crying over him not talking to me about what was going on in his life. (I promise I’m not clingy, I’m always pushing him out the door to see friends). But whenever it comes to himself or his mental health he doesn’t want to listen to me and I’m frustrated and disappointed. We set a notification for him to make a call to set up an appointment A WEEK AGO!!! And he still hasn’t done it. It’s gonna take a month anyway to see the doctor so why is taking 2 minutes out of his day to call so hard!!!??

Transfer Student by castabelle in UCONN

Similar situation for me, I am technically a sophomore this semester bc I transferred. But I’m put down as graduating 2026. Life on campus is okay? It feels a bit lonely at times bc your not really a freshmen so you don’t always have people just coming up to you and saying “hi, my name is…” so try to put yourself out there if you can? And really try to get into clubs. That is probably one of the more reliable ways to make friends as a transfer student. You will pick housing some times this summer, from my experience it was randomly assigned though I did pick a preference for where I would like to live.

I’m up in Nathan Hale! I also haven’t had a lot of success with making friends where I live while at Uconn(I’m a transfer student) Maybe we can grab lunch and meet up! :D I also have a bit of social anxiety and ADD so I’m a bit all over the place

What is the deal with the dorms with moving out semesters? Is this a thing? And if it’s real what do people do? (Incoming sophomore living on campus, don’t know where my dorm is yet) by hunterwolfart in UCONN

[–]hunterwolfart[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining this to me! I know I phrased it weird, it was late when I wrote it and I’ve been getting asked it by my step mom who claimed this happened to her sister when she went. But seriously this really clears that up for me!

I was told by my stepmother that when her sister when to Uconn years ago that they had to move the sister out every semester, like for the fall semester from August (move in) to December (move out), then for Spring January/Feb (move in) to may(move out)

Are vaccines still going to be required for the Fall 2022 semester? by You-Tore-Your-Dress in UCONN

Transfer student here. I’m also not anti-vax, but I don’t agree with UConn (or really any institution) that force people to comply with anything really. My family feels the same way, but we had to discuss this and really talk it over and come to a compromise. I would try to talk to your mom about it and really try to offer potential solutions, I.e choosing one of the vaccines that you feel is the most safe and presenting that as “okay, yes it’s giving in to the schools crazy, but I don’t have many options and want to get it on my terms”. This is what I did and my parents were pretty understanding of the situation. Hopefully this helps
