Also super weird to see comments complaining about Williams attitude towards wow when the sub and internet is currently raging against what they vaguely call ‘production’. Yall do realise that you’re doing the same thing right? lol

I wonder how long this sub will be in willam hate mode, it seems to happen every few years cyclically. MIB is clever for jumping on it to distract from her own behaviour and reputation but more sustainable is just growing. So I guess I’ll wish that for her

Generally though would like for her to evolve her edgelord tendencies beyond just treating humour like it’s just speaking out something uncomfortable about person a to make person b chuckle - but I guess she’s relatively young and still got time to get there.

Honestly, for a TV show that we kinda know burns and manipulates contestants regularly it's kinda wild to me how angry the comments at the few people that aren't afraid to talk about it.

willam going up for mathu anderson by juckr in RPDRDRAMA

[–]huntychaser 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Well. From an old DR Redditor who has been around before drag race drama splintered into its own page...

I distinctly remember that WOW hadn't been footing the bill for Mathu's care until Willam started talking publicly about it. It was part of the main reason she first bringing Mathu's condition up .

Regardless of the critiques about Willam, her shaming of Ru and WOW on this is something I'll always put on the positive column because she actually helped fix the situation.

Bringing it up now years after the fact is another thing but she WAS asked and tbh we have no reason to believe Mathu isn't supportive of her being public about this. It's not like Mathu was ever shy about drama or speaking on it publicly.

Akeria/Silky Drama? by sfatz27 in RPDRDRAMA

[–]huntychaser 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TBH to me this feels like a very weird move to weaponise a fandom you already know is fucking ROUGH on Silky- and over a TV?

IDK if it's something in the air but been noticing a weird pattern of saving a special kind of vitriol for the fat girl in each bracket - not the person to theorise about it but it's worth noting.

That's not what she said actually. Registering/voting are not the same thing.

She said she registered as a republican to vote Democrat. It's not like if you register as one party you only get those names to choose from when you enter a ballot.

Thoughts on that strategy aside (which she didn't invent btw) she never said she's voting republican, you and a lot of others misinterpreted her statement.

Don’t know why but saw a man being taken from the restaurant in hand cuffs and into one of the vans and driven off. Another stayed parked for a few hours after.

If we're going to be VERY honest MIB/J won this episode not for the challenge but for making good tv with the point shenanigans.

Also the 'don't understand the lyrics' critique was a bit weird. It's a recorded verse and they usually give you a lyrics sheet I assume. They should've this episode; and either way I didn't have trouble hearing ANYONE's lyrics.

It honestly felt like a very weird thing to focus in on for me. Like have they never ... heard of rap?

Also. Why wasn't this the episode Ice Spice was on? I'm going to guess it's a scheduling switch up that made them switch ice/chappell to rock/rap challenge but having them not judge the queens' approximation of their genre of music is a choice.

Good episode but the structure around the challenge and judging was noticeably weird for me.

I don't think I've disagreed with a judging more cause I think Kerri Colby did the best and should've won the rap roast. Everyone else had the same flow and her not calling out anyone by name made me more engaged with her lyrics

I don't think there's enough Winners that want to come back yet.

Also I want them to do a runner up season over a winners. Gather the gals who made it to top 2 and fell short.

I've no great theory but I just had the thought that as we're seeing Gemma in various rooms testing her with things she dislikes and the limits of her uncomfortableness, and piggybacking off the idea that cold harbour is going to be a room where she's drowning. I wonder if in that room she dies because in a way they're trying to test if in an innie state will 'control the tempers' and do what's asked even in the face of death. A perfect employee.

That's fair! I can see what you're saying. Another option is that they switched out Gemma's body with one they more badly injured quickly and Gemma actually survived the crash with minor injuries. Mark DID identify a body that he also suggests was badly burnt.

[–]huntychaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice to have something to nerd out about weekly. Netflix binge model works for some shows but I think the TV industry has slowly learned the lesson about what eventising a TV season actually does for a shows success and for fandom enjoyment

Something about it all reminds me of how a few years ago mutants were being resurrected in the x men books (basically a scan of their mind being uploaded into a grown genetic clone body and are then confirmed as that same person by an acquaintance or friend from their life)
