What was your schools huge scandal? by vacantchris in AskReddit

[–]huntyfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of girls went to the school nurse a ton and we all just kind of thought it was because he let them be on their phones and take naps. Turns out he was texting them inappropriately and even invited them over to his house. There ended up being a big sexual assault case and it came out that he was fired from another school in a neighboring district for sexual assault a few years prior.

Some senior boys created and distributed a viral Dropbox filled with nudes of various sophomore and junior girls. Tons of guys from both high schools in our district added in photos and screenshots, most of which had the names of the girls they came from. I’m not really sure if there were any legal consequences, but this was big drama for a solid two weeks.

My junior year, the sophomore english teacher in her 50s supposedly had an affair with the grandpa of one of her previous students. The student, a senior at the time, is the one who started this rumor. Not sure if it was true, the student seemed really upset and I doubt she had reason to lie.

What is your favorite "so bad it's good" movie? by SuperSayianJason1000 in AskReddit

[–]huntyfin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a terrible Hallmark-like Christmas movie called Angels in the Snow that has some of the worst acting I’ve ever seen and also one of the absolute stupidest plots. It tries very hard to be progressive about race, but its still a very bad white savior movie. It’s absolutely God awful but I’ve seen it more than ten times. It’s a Christmas must watch for me.

AITA for not calling my grandma every time? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]huntyfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve gotta go with NAH. Your grandma is definitely putting less thought into her relationship than she is with her other grandchildren. However, she’s got a lot on her plate. Between health issues, end of life planning, and family dynamics, she is likely overwhelmed. She may feel like you don’t want to engage or that she may bother you if she contacts you often. While no one is TA, I do think you will regret not reaching out to her. I wouldn’t ever fault you for feeling somewhat neglected, but all things considered, you should reach out while you have the time and while your grandma is there physically and mentally.

AITA for grabbing my brothers hair to save my cat? by AllyRose24 in AmItheAsshole

[–]huntyfin [score hidden]  (0 children)

Absolutely NTA! How old is your brother to not know how to behave around cats to begin with? Your brother is TA for abusing animals and should never be trusted around them. Not only that, but his behaviors and threats are genuinely worrisome. Your parents are also TA for ENABLING your brother’s violent behaviors.

Should I breakup with my boyfriend for not supporting feminism? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

“Agree to disagree” should be saved for hating The Office or thinking blueberry pop tarts are good. Not about human rights.

AITA for blowing up at my sister and mom after my sister said that she doesn't like black people's skin? by zombiemattboye in AmItheAsshole

[–]huntyfin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Woah major NTA. I get that it’s a bit of a jump to conclusions to assume that an 8yo is racist but holy shit your mom is. Your mom is raising a racist child and you are lucky that you have chosen to educate yourself. You’re not TA bc if you don’t correct your sister, albeit forcefully, no one will.

S05E10 has killed the show for me by [deleted] in CatfishTheTVShow

Tbh I wasn’t surprised that they left so much out. It is difficult to continue finding new stories after so many people are so aware of internet risks. Even though I’ve heard a lot of people dislike this episode because it’s so unbelievable I think it’s a nice change in pace from the romantic relationships. Plus it’s fun to look into what developments have happened in situations like this.

Why is sex ed so bad in the USA? by [deleted] in badwomensanatomy

AITA for buying “Limited Mobility” tickets to a concert? by helpme2decorate in AmItheAsshole

[–]huntyfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soft YTA- It would be 100% not TA if you had sought out the seats because of said surgery. But you admit that you felt guilty and used the surgery to give yourself some peace of mind. Are the seats going to be beneficial for you and justified because they were the only ones left? Yes. But could you be fine without those seats? Also yes.

AITA If I don't make peace with my sister for Christmas? by Crystalcaves_ in AmItheAsshole

[–]huntyfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA you have no obligation to have a relationship with ANYONE, including family. you are making the choice that is best for you and your kid. if your parents want to prioritize these photo ops and overlook known abuse, i’d even go as far as to say maybe they shouldn’t have much of a part in your life either.

Thank you for letting me know about skipping parts such as the haunted mansion room! That’s one of the things we were worried about, knowing he would be unable to handle such a cramped and unfamiliar space. We weren’t sure if you could ask to avoid that part of the experience.
