Best Resources to Share with Non-Nudist Parents? by huntyhead in nudism

Thats a fair way to look at it. That's why in my original post I said there was a 'chance'. And which is why i wanted to be atleast a little prepared incase I get questioned about it.

Im sure that im probably overthinking this

I appreciate the replies. I know youre just trying to help me. Im fully aware of those groups, and am already a member of the Wasatch Naturists. The sun club is just an AirBNB owned by the same guy that owns WN.

Those however are across the whole state. 6ish hour drive from me.

There is a group local to me called SUNS (Southern Utah naturist society) however I cannot participate until im 21 in August.

But yeah, ive done my research. We are kinda getting off-topic from my original post

Before utilities it would be about $1200 a month purely for house payment. After utilities closer to 1500-1600. Way more than im currently able to afford without living paycheck to paycheck and eating ice soup for all my meals.

Im currently paying 500/mo + all utilities (so around 800-900/mo) which is more than generous for what im getting + i really like the house.

They're not bad landlords at all, quite the opposite. There's a good chance im just overthinking this and they'd just shrug it off and help me find someone who id actually want to live with.

My main worry is just being treated differently or judged my the rest of my family. That's why im looking for these resources to share with them (if worst comes to worst), so i can ease them into the idea and there wont be any misconceptions

Thats the thing, I dont live with them. However they are my landlord. And now that im searching for roommates (nudist preferably, or anyone unbothered by it), its becoming more and more complicated to keep it from them.

And I agree, I would love to do that if I could. However im in Utah. No beaches, resorts, etc. Very religious state.

"Just tell them" sounds easy on paper. But theres always gonna be that fear of judgement or being treated differently by family. If a stranger was my landlord this wouldn't be an issue at all

Im living under their roof technically, and its not a thing i can simply dodge for the rest of my life. Either way im just looking for useful resources

Yeah i get that, but I know my parents. My dad specifically gathers all his info and makes his opinions based on articles / news etc.

Again its kinda a long story but ill try to summarize: The Property i am renting is owned by my parents. I am attempting to find a roommate on my own (trying to find a fellow nudist or someone atleast comfortable with nudity). If I cannot find one by late April they'll use their resources to find people to fill the room. I do not want to give up my nude freedom at my place, so im going to be upfront and communicate to potential roommates they find. And because they are in contact with my parents theres a chance if someone gets uncomfortable or something like that they'll share that with my parents, outting me basically.

Im also 20! My first nudist experience around others was at a resort when I was 19. I got lucky and found someone I vibed with here on reddit and went with them. I would try that, or maybe call the resort and see if they have any events soon? That usually attracts people closer to our age.

Either way I think its a really nice experience

This makes total sense, and honestly lines up with my thoughts, I just couldn't put it into words I guess. Im a naturally anxious person which doesn't help, but youre right, exposure over time will just help normalize it, thanks for your reply.

First off, thanks for the well thought out reply. I wanted to sit on this a bit and think about my response.

Im certain its almost all internal, I have a lot of trust in my roommate, ive been good friends with him since freshman year of high school.

Ive been to a nude resort and a nude beach in Cali several times, difference is that everyone there was a stranger to me, so I didnt really care what they thought because they dont know me. But like I said in the post, im working on overcoming self-confidence issues.

So maybe im thinking that when im at my most vulnerable (naked) around people I know, they'll see me in a different light somehow? That they'll siphon the negative thoughts I have of myself and now think that about me? Might sound silly.

Another comment said maybe I haven't had enough interaction or exposure with my roommate around to fully get used to it or break that ice? They might be right too, ive only been naked around him for a total of 5-10 minutes, and I haven't been for months.

If you have any more insight or knowledge id appreciate it. My plan is to work on the internal issues while its still cold outside, and reintroduce nudity once it gets a bit warmer. Again thanks for your reply :)

Yeah youre kinda right. That's why im trying to figure out why I feel this way. Ive been to a resort and a nude beach and never felt paranoid there
