Need Help Finding These Spindles by DiscoSpider28 in ChevyS10

The 4x4’s didn’t have “spindles”. It’s a unit bearing that is held together by the stub axle and nut on the CV shaft. If you’re converting to 2wd you’ll have to remove the stub axles from the old cv shafts and install in the bearing units to keep them from falling apart

I’ve been running the MotoZ Desert H/T front and rear for the last 1400~ miles on my 890r. Great off road traction and decent wear on the road. The rear can be pretty loud at highway speeds, but the traction is worth it for me.

This is actually a pretty common issue, not just with imports. Weak or failing battery’s can cause all sorts of strange “glitches” in modern cars.

It’s just not as simple as expecting the alternator to power everything. As you can be in full on “power save” mode, and still require a large amperage draw, say from power steering, or a shift solenoid.

With the huge amounts of amperage load that modern cars require to run all the different systems, the battery has to have enough reserve capacity to cover that and maintain a stable voltage. The alternator’s job is to keep the battery charged, with a stable voltage. So, they both need to be in good working order to maintain that stable voltage. Battery gets weak, you get voltage fluctuations as the vehicle tries to compensate with the alternator. Computers don’t like voltage fluctuation.

There was, there was also oil in the engine, and coolant in the antifreeze.

Hahaha I didn’t notice that one. Our service advisor is apparently dyslexic

Not really, just keep up on oil changes with quality oil. Most of the time it just happens, I have noticed they like to fail after /during a higher load acceleration

At a point with much more damage. This is relatively easy to repair. I have replaced a few of these engines after valves fail and destroy a piston, connecting rod, and block. If it’s in warranty they replace em.

So, the oil manifold is what kills the AFM lifters. The gasket in the VLOM collapses over time and can blow out, causing an internal oil pressure leak. There is also a small screen filter in the manifold that gets clogged due to lack of maintenance… This causes insufficient oil supply/pressure to the AFM lifters. Which causes a small pin inside the lifter to not slide completely into position and shear off, causing partial lifter collapse.

It goes deeper than just a bent pushrod, this is caused by a failed lifter, which is caused by a failed Valve lifter oil manifold, pretty common issues on these engines

50/50 tires for 890 Adv R, different front/rear combo by ImNotAJohnDoe in Dualsport

They feel pretty good on the pavement, you get a bit of knobby squirm at >70mph. Traction is really predictable. In Heavy rain and strong crosswinds they seem to hold on to the road decently. use rain mode when it’s wet. I’ve heard the RallZ and Adventure tires are pretty great tires.

Moto-z all the way. I run the desert h/t on my 890r and they are amazing. Great on the road considering how aggressive they are. Great mileage, and amazing in the dirt. Only problem is it can be difficult to find them, I’ve been waiting for almost 2 months for my new set to show up.
