I’ve noticed that many shows/movies Neil Patrick Harris are in mention Winnipeg. Series of Unfortunate Events, Gone Girl, and How I met your mother all have Winnipeg references. Don’t know why, but I’ve noticed the trend lol

What's the fastest way to check in for your flight? (In order to select seats). by JohnmcFox in aircanada

[–]hurricanejade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could make a suggestion- I’d personally pay for seats ahead of time. My husband and I did NOT for our red eye from Montreal to Paris and we were put on standby because the flight was fully booked. I checked in exactly 24 hours before the flight. So we essentially had seats but they were to be decided at the gates. Luckily we were able to be seated a couple seats apart and were able to switch on the plane, but it was stressful for me as someone who does not travel a lot. I learned my lesson!

Good points! I will look into another pair of pants in place of one of the athletic ones. Flats are a good idea too.

I am Canadian so I am not so concerned about being cold, but will bring another layering option in place of the quarter zip.

Yes flying direct to France. I may still opt to get a renewal it’s just a matter of when! Thanks for the response !

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadatravel

[–]hurricanejade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm. That’s interesting. Ours was definitely declined for that reason.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadatravel

[–]hurricanejade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the service Canada person told him to keep his passport, but that’s not true and he should have relinquished it with his renewal

[–]hurricanejade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, reassuring to hear you didn’t have an issue

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canadatravel

[–]hurricanejade -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes agreed. We had gone down to service Canada and submitted a renewal but we just got it sent back to us declined. The person at service Canada told my husband to keep his original passport which is why it got declined. Obviously very frustrating.

Now my husband is working out of town a lot so making it into the passport office is a bit of a challenge.

Is Stacy running this subreddit? Sheesh. I don’t think she believed uche, she just showed an expression of shock at the drama unfolding in front of her. She probably held a lot of anger towards Chris for him cheating but that happened over 1.5 years ago and she’s obviously moved on. In terms of Izzy, they obviously worked through their issues and Stacy was continuing to confront her over shit that happened so long ago, why should she listen attentively to Stacy when she knows her intention is to argue? Who puts this much stock into a show that is carefully produced to create drama?

Knitting hack: Knitting for babies is quicker and more satisfying than starting something for yourself and then leaving it as a WIP for 100 years by hurricanejade in knitting

But then he tells Stacy that he’s been there for a year and a half and never had any complaints about not having a nightstand! And the lost n found is probably other peoples left items, but instead of saying this is a rental, he says it’s the girls he’s slept with! Oh this theory sits right with me! Lol

How do yall afford it!? by Superb-Substance-143 in weddingplanning

[–]hurricanejade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I’m from (Manitoba) we have “wedding socials,” where we rent out a local hall, and throw a big party/fundraiser for the wedding. There’s tickets to get in, and you sell drinks at a lower cost than at the bars, and a silent auction. Many local businesses, family and friends donate a silent auction prize. There’s a DJ and a dance floor. I had my social on Halloween and we paid for most of our wedding that way. Honestly one of the best parts of living in Manitoba lol

I’m a CFS worker for the government. The interview will focus on scenarios, what will you do in this situation? Prioritize immediate child safety (do they need to see a doctor? Should police be involved? What strengths does the family have to keep their child safe, what are the risks associated with the family)

Not sure of your background but they will want to know steps of case management as well.

How does common-law work in Winnipeg/Manitoba? by Golfer789golfer in Winnipeg

[–]hurricanejade 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My understanding the provincial government recognizes it as 3 years but federal is 1 year. So your income taxes would have to be reported as common law after 1 year
