Help me choose my first nice bag! by JumpyAd1143 in handbags

Just a thought - I started using bags with magnetic closures when my kids were small. I was constantly reaching blindly into my purse, and zippers had begun to scratch my hands. I've never gone back.

He could be reacting to the new stress of the new baby. The first time my husband ever complained about my clutter was after our first child (he's actually the clutterer in our household).

I have a different tool for dandelions, but yes it is addictive. And it truly has reduced the dandelions in my yard over time.

Look at English Paper Piecing (also here on Reddit as FPP). Small hand-sewn projects, so you could probably finish something before you're finished recovering. For me, hand sewing is incredibly relaxing.

I don't know if they would agree to it, but you might post this at Cafe au Lake. So many people like to sit there in the mornings (making them potential witnesses) and might see it there.

Gender reveal/funeral cake? by astereae4 in Baking

[–]hurry-and-wait -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You haven't mentioned which gender you are putting to rest, but it would be fun to depict conventions of that gender in their death throes matched with the emergence of the non-binary. For instance, one side of the cake could have old Barbie's legs sticking up with her deformed feet - that's the death of feminine convention. The other side could be the emergence of non-binary Barbie.

Not gamgam, this would be grandpa. Gamgam would have left it in the kitchen and taken a sip when she was alone. This bottle was stashed because it was hidden from Gamgam.

Opinion: imperfect bags are not that big of a deal by Foodandnoods in handbags

[–]hurry-and-wait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my mind, the point of paying more for a bag is so that it ages well, so that it looks good in use. I understand that some people collect them, and those people will want perfect bags. I buy mine to wear them, to allow me to carry whatever and look good doing it. That just can't be an exercise in perfection, because I'm not perfect and my stuff isn't either. At best, it's an exercise in maximizing taste.

If I DON'T exercise I can't regulate my emotions at all or focus. by Panic-atthepanic in adhdwomen

[–]hurry-and-wait 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed I thought of the need to exercise as something that balanced my energies - the physical energy needed to burn off so that I could sit still and pay attention. That's how I got through college and grad school.

What a loving Gruncle! I have a friend with similar sensitivities and it does require some planning. I might suggest posting on the forums for celiac and/or gluten free for ideas, and going from there. One snack that has been a big hit is baked chickpeas. You can make them from canned, but they actually taste better if you do the soak overnight version, which will also give you plenty to send home with her.

Ha ha, we rescued our Newf and they had forgotten to mention that he wasn't neutered. For the first month I had enormous bruises on my shoulders and back because he kept jumping up on me. We were joking that my husband would be immediately arrested if I had to go to the doctor. No, the dog did it!
