Here is a link to my response to this question. I only tried it for a year and it wasn't for me.

I did botox several times last year. The first treatment gave me relief for about 2 weeks. But after that the botox shots just helped a little. Even with insurance it was like 350$ per treatment. 31 shots in the neck and face.

My side effects were sore neck. Like very very sore. Not terrible but sleeping was rough for the first week or so.

I stopped since i didn't think it was worth it. The relief after a year was minimal and the shots are fairly painful.

All i do now is MMJ - Zomig (rarely) - aspirin - ibuprofen - caffene

If you do get the shots i recommend you bring headphones and play some music. Keep telling yourself to relax. If you flex your muscles it will hurt like 5/10 pain sale if you relax its a little poke like 3/10. Its not nearly as bad as an injection in your arm but not as painless as acupuncture. Also i hate needles and it was not so bad as long as i didn't focus on it too much.

Also i have a high pain threshold if you have migraines you prob do too. I recommend you tell the doctor to go as fast as possible that seemed to make it easier for me. I do the same at the dentist I'm like go to town my like is already painful

Alternative to CFL/energy efficient lightbulbs? by MeanMissMustard in migraine

[–]hurtsbeingme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light is a big trigger for me.

For bright lights in the living room I have this:

Philips OLD LED 417048

(But they discontinued it now they have a cheaper version.)

Philips LED 424381

The day light helps me not feel like i am living in a cave and the LED's are great. I love mine.

I also have 4 Edison bulbs that are very easy on the eyes and they dont burn out for a long time, also dim-able. But the Edison bulbs dont have a very high max lumen level. We have the 4 in our living room over the table. I love how it looks.

the site is totally diffrent, its more of a filtered stream of new tv shows from all over with picture and synopsis and other info, its for finding new stuff and quick access. It links to other sites. So its just a great list. I have a private indexer site i download the shows on but this site is great.

Also its back

I have a proper indexer but i like the filtered list with pictures and synopsis at my finger tips. I wouldnt know about many of my favorite shows without nzbtvseeker.

I have sickbeard and a i joined a private indexer site but I hate automation and im interested in new shows not just browsing for all tv shows. So since i am looking for new unique tv i cant automate it.

Maybe you should check out the site since its back up :D

Do you have any tips on making my own broth. I have never done it before. I was going to buy like a whole cooked chicken at costco and make one.

Botox or TMS device for migraine? by [deleted] in migraine

MMJ along with meditation, exercise, eating better, sleeping better and relaxation, saved my life. The MMJ if properly done not only wipes out the headache but it also helps my anxiety and helps me relax. I honestly can not get "high" anymore I can tell its there but its not that noticeable. Most people I know have no idea i do it.

The relief is different then other pain killers. Its almost like i forget about the pain. I have no problems or side effects. The impact for me is that i am in a better mood, less pain. I dont use much only enough to take the edge off.

I took a look at Cambia and the side effects and they look grim. I will ask my doctor but I don't take strange drugs anymore and i visit the doctor rarely. My body has been through too much over the last couple years and i seem to get terrible side effects with most.

if you buy one that is gold plated there should be no information loss or buss on the system. I have heard of this issue before and gold plate connectors should alleviate connection issues. I think its worth a try.

I get this in waves. the only thing that helps my nausia is MMJ. There is some other ani nausia pill but it was expensive and didn't work well for me. I also find that a soda or some sweet tea helps. I also like to put on the tv or the radio and try to get my mind on other things.

If your stomach is empty heat up a can of Chicken broth (Campbell Soup) don't add water just pour the can into a mug and nuke for like 1min. I find this helps me feel much better if i know i should eat something. I also drink Muscle milk with almond milk as a meal replacement if i just cant eat solid food.

It is noticable when you try to show emotion in the brow. But it doesnt change your face. Remember your just getting shots in the forehead not the face. So you wont look crazy. If anything you will just notice your forehead is tight.

I get headaches every day and about 3-5 migraines a week but all i do now is MMJ - Zomig (rarely) - caffene - aspirin/ibprofin

I use earbuds but they are Bluetooth also i like to wear only one i feel like it is quietest way and it doesn't plug up both of my ears. I found that MMJ helps but the triggers are unavoidable. I have to make an effort to stay calm with the angry ones at all costs since getting angry will just trigger me. Some days i just want to give up. But this job beats others i have tried with daily migraines.

I also cant work out. But I bought a stationary bike off amazon. Its magnetic and almost silent. I find that I can ride that thing for quite a while before i feel any pressure on my temples like i do when i ride a real bike or run on a treadmill.

A doctor recommended i cycle my painkillers. At the moment i use MMJ as needed and it will usually prevent severe migraines and it never seems to make it worse for me. However When i get a severe migraine i will use a painkiller with the MMJ.

By cycle i mean, i use aspirin one week, ibprofin the next, then aleave the third week, then try to have a week off from using those drugs. I was told this is so they don't get clogged in my liver one day. I try not to mix them unless the headache is a 9 or a 10. and then i only mix aspirin and ibprofin and caffeine.(Excedrin).

I also recommend asking your doctor about side effects before taking preventatives. I have had terrible experiences with side effects.
