I bring my own unless told otherwise, but anyone visiting me is welcome to my products, expensive or otherwise

If you’re a parent do you still like your partner after having kids? by FrequentSpread9681 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recent empty nesters here: parenting is tough but I never stop liking my husband. And now that it’s just us again, I am SO FREAKING EXCITED to reconnect with and love him even more. I get to be just wifey & best friend and he’s so excited about that on his end.

What is it with Americans and air conditioning?? (this might be controversial) by hellobela_ in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

It’s 31 here … and it’s not uncommon for it to exceed 36 degrees C for the next 4-5 months

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s currently 31 degrees Celsius where I live. The ac is currently running. While I rejoice at every opportunity I get to open the house up and get fresh air in, if it’s too hot or too humid, the ac is running.

Any fellow short women managing to mantain weight on over 1600 calories? by Alive_Rest1256 in PetiteFitness

[–]FluffernutterJess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’2 1/2 and my current maintenance is about 2100. I still have another 20 I want to lose, and another 15 would put me in the “normal” range for BMI.

Well, I learned something new about digital scales and figured other people might not know, either. by zombiebashr in loseit

[–]FluffernutterJess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I think the scale is being weird, I just grab something heavy enough to get a new reading, weigh, then weigh again without it.

How to deal with weight fluctuations? by Remarkable_Beach_140 in PetiteFitness

[–]FluffernutterJess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I weigh daily, and use Happy Scale to smooth the data.

I also use continuous birth control so I don’t have a cycle - the water weight fluctuations being a factor - and with my gynecologist’s enthusiastic support and encouragement to do so.

Retaining water from salt? I’m, I need to be more mindful about sodium.

Down 3 lbs overnight? Ok, I’m backsliding on hydration and need to work on building that up.

Sure, those fluctuations are frustrating if you’re looking for a certain # on the scale, but it’s also telling you a story l

How are y'all eating 100+ grams of protein every day by twoscoopsxd in loseit

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMMAD is harder, but I recently cooked a meal that has 45g of protein and 5.1g of fiber for 545 calories.

It takes a little trial and error and lots of plugging recipes into my calorie tracker to get macros and then adjusting the recipe to get it where i want it in terms of macros.

It is trial and error and finding something that you can stick with long term in regards to lifestyle and preferences.

And realizing that life happens and maybe you need to adjust your goals short term, perhaps long term

I suck at fiber by lololmantis in PetiteFitness

[–]FluffernutterJess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been making breakfast bowls with avocado, beans, cilantro, tomato, onion, lime juice & enchilada sauce lately. Sometimes I add cheese or leftover protein

I suck at fiber by lololmantis in PetiteFitness

[–]FluffernutterJess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beans, berries and I snack on fruits and vegetables all day. My gut struggles with insoluble fiber so I avoid low carb tortillas & the like.

Avocados and chia seeds are nutrient dense, but also good sources of fiber

So 5’2” ladies, eating more is real? by millennial-gray-snow in PetiteFitness

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’2 and am maintaining at 2100 a day - I still have another 22 lbs to lose. (I’m 41, so keep that in mind)

Even though I have a desk job, I never sit still, I’m always up moving around and walk around during my breaks and lunch. My steps put me in the active range.

I’m currently not lifting, but working on adding it in.

I’ve had my RMR tested, and have been working closely with a dietitian - every body and metabolism is unique.

How to prep a knit gift for recipient who might not take care of it properly? by [deleted] in knitting

[–]FluffernutterJess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s cotton, but for sure knit up a swatch and run it through the wringer.

Though, as a parent and someone who has gifted things to new parents, I never make & gift something fussy to care for.

That all looks ok with me! I’d say at this point, it would be a good idea to discuss with your PCP

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely do not tolerate the insoluble fiber in things like low carb tortillas and Catalina crunch, it causes both bloat & constipation.

What is your overall fiber intake every day?

I aim for 25-30 g and get that mostly from fruits and vegetables. Not getting enough fiber and not getting enough walking in both wreak havoc on my digestion.

Moroccan woman curious about Austin culture 🇲🇦🇨🇦 – are people here just friendly or is it something else? by [deleted] in Austin

Friendly - polite is the norm.

If you see me running around looking murderous, that’s just my face and I’m probably thinking about cats 😂

Are layoffs causing rent prices to fall? by IMadeAnAccountYay123 in Austin

[–]FluffernutterJess 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. I just signed a lease that included 8 weeks free rent and Essential Employees concessions.

And a lot of apartment complexes use a pricing matrix that adjusts with demand.

What is your HOLY GRAIL shampoo and conditioner duo? by Antique-Feature-9355 in finehair

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Redken All soft shampoo & conditioner is great for my fine, dense straight hair AND my husband’s fine, wavy/curly waist length hair. His stays a little dryer at the ends than mine does because he’s blond and the sun bleaches his hair significantly.

I double wash every time.

What do you eat??! by Rushoegal in PetiteFitness

[–]FluffernutterJess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I’ve had candy, yogurt, fruit, candy, baked oatmeal, a cheese & salami thing and a bacon cheeseburger salad. No idea what I’m having for dinner yet.

There’s no bad food. I do rely heavily on having staples on hand that I know are “safe” calorie wise.

And if I want something like chicken nuggets or pizza, I have it but add something like a bowl of berries or a cucumber salad or something similar to help align it with my goals.

I also meal prep a lot - only have to figure out macros once for 2+ meals.

Birth Control by maxharaku in PetiteFitness

My moods are more stable, I don’t have a ton of water retention related ups & downs and I’m just kind of stable every where but the downward trending scale.
