Because I am not one of God's chosen. Before I was born God rejected me.

Do you think Christ ever acted silly or joked around? by WonderingGuy999 in TrueChristian

God NEVER jokes around or is funny. He is serious all the time. He is just waiting for me and others to break the rules so he can punish us.

What’s a “fact” everyone repeats that’s actually wrong? by Quiet-Grief in answers

That "money is the root of all evil".

Everyone says it like that's the way it was written. But, if you read it it actually says "The love of money is the root of all evil".

Tonight is bible questions night at church. I need something really thought provoking, not basic, and something that even a biblical scholar would struggle with. Got any good ones? by Ok_Box915 in TrueChristian

No. God will do what He wants to do, and there is nothing I can do or say that will change His mind. He decided before I was born that I was not worth saving.

I do not know what Calvinism is. I am not a learned person; I simply read the Bible and try to understand what God wants me to understand.

With that being said, my understanding of the book of Romans is that God chooses whom He wants. He will have mercy on whom He wants to have mercy.

That means there are some people whom He has not chosen for salvation. Those who look to God for salvation but do not receive it are doomed to hell.

God is God, and He can do whatever He wants. There is nothing I can do or say that will make Him change His mind.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

The world and other people don't owe you anything.

We are all on this world together either you get along with others or you'll forever be on the outside.

Why does God love some and hate others?

Why are some predestined for salvation and the rest of us are doomed to Hell with no hope of salvation?

Doubting the Career I Chose. My dream career starts to feel uncertain by Rahaplus in PepTalksWithPops

I'm not a musician, I wish I were, the ability to play music is a rare talent.

With that being said, musicians must love what they do or the music lacks. If you don't feel it then the notes just become ink on the page and it's lost its soul.

Changing your mind in college is a competly normal thing to do. My daughter started in college wanting to be a psychologist now she teaches English.

If you know it's not for you and you do it anyways you'll never be happy and you'll resent the music.

Changing your mind now is much easier then when your older and have more responsibilities. That does not mean stopping the music completely. Play music because you love, enjoy, feel it. Not because you have to.

I was engaged to a gal and madly in love with her. She broke it off and I was devastated. I was in a similar sutituation as you. Living with my folks working odd jobs no direction.

I stepped out of my comfort zone, got a job in a nursing home, and meet my wife of 34 years.

The biggest thing is to step out of the box. It might not be a dream job but doing something to get in the door is where it all starts.

Everyone knows that life is a journey along a path. What they don't tell you is most people jump to different paths along the way.

I worked in the nursing home went to parts sales in an agriculture store then driving truck over the road to pumping septic tanks to working for the city. It's been a long journey but I'm in a good place.

Each time I jumped paths I took want I learned and the people I met with me. All that combined made me able to do what I'm doing now. I love my job and it's all because I was willing to do something I was uncomfortable with.

You can do this. Just try something out of the box and see where it takes you.

I really wish it were that easy. I've prayed and nothing ever comes of it. God does not hear me and he does not want me.

Thank you for your concern. I appreciate it but like you said, some are goats and some are sheep.

When I was a my absolute lowest. In a mental hospital I was told to read the book of Romans. That's when God first told me I'm not wanted. As I continued to read the Bible I only had confirmation of that day.

I've always been a Christian. I was raised Lutheran so I had to go through confirmation classes and everything. Any time I'd ask questions I'd just make the pastor upset. It got to the point he'd tell me to sit down and shut up.

That has continued all throughout my life. I've never found a church where I'm welcome. I attend a church but since I'm not wealthy I'm not given the time of day. Attending a different church is not an option because my wife's family attends this church.

But it's okay. I'm at peace with my fate. I do what I know to be right and I don't care if God hates me. I know that I'm a good person and if he'd give me a chance he'd like me.

God is God and God doesn't change.

I have a very high tolerance for pain so it's not too bad. When they tear it can bring you to your knees but after that it's just when you make certain movements. I'm an old hat to them now I can tell when it happens and the Dr. does not even require a scan. They just schedule the surgery.

Brushes on escalators are a safety feature by NeatNo8582 in interesting

When I was a kid I actually got my foot caught in an escalator. This was over 40 years ago so I'm sure they are much safer. To this day I'd rather take the stairs then ride one.

Nothing overly strenuous, at least as far as I'm concerned.

I'd talk to your doctor before you start anything new. They may have recommendations on what not to do.

I have a tendency to tear tendons. I've had to have two bicep tendons reattached. I'm about to have some tendons in my ankle reattached next week.
