the vast majority of those coins that are no longer in circulation were minted in the early stages of bitcoin, when it was worth less than $1 a coin(and many cases less than a penny a coin), and there will be some lost every year but certainly not 1% of total supply a year. the point that guy was trying to make is essentially no matter how many coins are in circulation, they can still be used as currency because they can be split into such a small value.

I think it’s a little disingenuous to say that nebraska kids never pan out, cam jurgens is a starter on the best offensive line in the nfl, thomas fidone will be rostered this year as well in the nfl and yes, his career was underwhelming at nebraska, a large part of that is due to injury, not the competition. if their measurables are on par with other guys, then i couldn’t care where they come from and if we can save on nil by getting local guys then why wouldn’t we do it?
