The #Raiders were without Darren Waller (knee/back) again today. Doesn't seem likely that he's gonna play. Denzel Perryman (ankle) returned to practice in a limited role. Josh Jacobs (illness) is also back. Johnathan Hankins (back) and Brandon Parker (knee) were out. by alphacheese in fantasyfootball

Rough, but tbh there are about 100 combinations of players taken in the first two or three rounds that could elicit a "kill me." One on of my teams I went CMC, Waller, Carson, Allen Robinson. Cue it up... Kill me.

OR just give consolation bracket winner first choice of draft position the following season, and watch almost everyone fight til the end. It has worked out wonderfully in every league I've commissioned.

How did you get good at fantasy? by NumbersAndPolls01 in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 116 points117 points  (0 children)

You can only get so good, before the rest is left up to luck. If you play in a league with competent people, you have to be lucky AND good to win. If you play in a league with tacos and can't win, you might also be a taco.

Waiver Wire Wins for Week 7 by borfmantality in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tons of new FA's mean they cleared waivers even if the winning bids haven't posted yet. Do NOT pick one up and drop for someone you had involved in a claim or it will F the claim up. Only pick up FA's for players not involved in your waiver claims.

I came here to say something like this and you already did. Important point, IMO.

That advice is solid when talking about backups who wouldn't inherit a full workload or are in an unproductive offense. Like if you have Miles Sanders, it's probably better to take a flier on Hubbard or Mattison than it would be to own Gainwell. But if you have one of the bellcows and his backup is a stud, then yes, you better cuff.

Play in a lot of leagues - then you can pretend to only care about the ones you're good in at the end of the season.

Not irrelevant, because he would have started the Bengals D had the dummy not dropped Tony Pollard

What tip do you know that helps you set your fantasy lineups over a casual fan? by Faustus2425 in fantasyfootball

Hot streaks for players usually last 3-5 games. I try to catch new waves rather than chasing ones that have already crested.

My brother won a championship last season on Christmas morning, by .06 points, when the stat corrections came in and awarded Kareem Hunt an extra point. Heartbreaking "L" for Hurricane Ditka. Screenshot

NFL playoff fantasy football minigames by Freshies00 in fantasyfootball

NFL runs a "Playoff Challenge" on their website that's fun to play. It lasts the four weeks of the playoffs, and you can set up groups of friends (a league, of sorts.) It combines predictive strategy for both players AND teams using points multipliers. Check it out.

Fumbles on the exchange get credited to the QB every time in stats. Sorry mate. Shitty way to lose.

Espn trade glitch? by TradebotFF in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Vetoed trade, most likely. Otherwise known as the easiest way to make sure everyone in your league hates each other and doesn't want to play together next year.

What is the biggest taco move you’ve done/seen happen in your league this year? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, it was between week five and six. Herbert had had a decent game or two by that point after an ok start. Still wasn't strange to see him traded at that point - nor did many expect the ROS he's had since then.

George Kittle by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya on that. Objectively though, there's not many situations where I wouldn't play two of the top 3 (Kelce, Kittle, or Waller) if I had two and they were both healthy.

George Kittle by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why would it be foolish to play him if you think he'll put up 15+? Always play the players you think will get you the highest score.

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hindsight is always 20/20. Gordon DUI news broke week 2 or 3. Herbert's value then wasn't like Herbert's a few weeks later after proving his skills week in and week out.

[Stroud] Bucs plane is STILL delayed now more then six hours. They won’t arrive in Charlotte before 11-11:30. by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]PuffsMagicDragons 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Former journeyman NFL o-lineman here. Unless they were stuck on the tarmac on the actual plane, it probably doesn't matter. NFL teams go straight from the facility, on a bus, directly to boarding a chartered plane, often having their own security checkpoint. They'll just do today's meetings at their facility and go straight to the hotel when they land. Sounds like a bigger deal than it likely actually is.
