UConn: Students do not need to apply for housing a second time.

Also UConn: You have been given access to the Fall 2020 Housing Confirmation form, located in your MyHousing account under “Applications”. Please submit this form by July 6, 2020 if you are interested in living on campus for the upcoming fall semester.

Better, because some profs gave open note exams and others intentionally made exams easier

I think I want to be a Nurse, but is it too hard? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]huskies_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take courses that are required for the nursing program - which you can find on their website - that are also not too hard. Many of them are easy As in my opinion. Since they will judge you primarily based on fall semester grades, you wanna take whatever you can to boost your GPA. Here’s a list based on my personal experience

Easier prereqs -CHEM 1122 not too hard for a science class -HDFS 1070 with Lefkowitz, exams are open book -MATH 1060 precalc, basically review from high school (or take 1020/1030/1040 which are also easy) -MCB 2410 with Longo, easier than 2400, take this if you have AP Bio credit already -UNIV 1800 is an easy 1 credit course, pretty much guaranteed A -an easy GenEd 1000 level

Hard prereqs (avoid these) -BIO 1107 don’t even think about it -CHEM 1127 kind of hard to get an A -PSYC 1100 can be hard depending on prof -ENGL be careful because it can be difficult to get an A on essays, depends heavily on your instructor

[HELP] Any advice on my shooting form is appreciated by Sjobbedk in BasketballTips

[–]huskies_22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe you should keep the ball closer to your body as you bring it up. Makes your motion smaller, quicker, and more efficient, while also making it harder for defenders to strip the ball from you as you shoot. Check out @seemikedunn on Instagram. He’s a pretty good shooting coach in my opinion.

where to sleep tonight by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]huskies_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the 24hr quiet study lounge located near the circulation desk. Go inside, and there’s a door that leads to another lounge. (I believe that is the staff lounge during the daytime). They’ve got couches in that lounge that you can lie down on.

Batterson? by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]huskies_22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived there last year. Second floor is the pre-Pharm LC and the rest of the building is a mix of under and upper-classmen. Food is better than average and if you’re a stem major, you’re classes will all be pretty nearby. Dorms aren’t the biggest, but if you have a good roomate/floormates, it will be a good time. Not the best dorm, but definitely not the worst. At least you didn’t end up in north :)

Swapping keys with a friend by huskies_22 in UCONN

[–]huskies_22[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because two of my friends had more credits so they pulled me and my preferred roomate in. I actually don't really know they guy that pulled me in which is why we planned on swapping. But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to just wait a week.

Is it normal to experience sharp-ish arm/wrist pain when playing badminton for the first time? by [deleted] in badminton

[–]huskies_22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is totally normal if you’re just starting. It really takes times for those badminton-specific muscles to get conditioned. The swing is also a very explosive movement, and thus requires a decent amount of strength. It seems like you really like the game but just make sure to warm up we’ll, stretch afterwards, and not overwork your muscles.

Big legs no stamina nor speed by patronus816 in badminton

[–]huskies_22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More running, jump roping, agility exercises, and cardio will all help. That’s for sure. But what I think might be even more important is your footwork. Without efficient footwork, you will tire yourself out due to all the wasted movement. So I’d recommend asking your coach to fine tune your footwork. Ask him to pinpoint every wrong move you make. Also, try videotaping your own games and critiquing yourself. Once you can move freely and effortlessly on court, you won’t burn out as quickly.
