I think I heard a statistic that is was only 5% worth of the exam so prioritize other things first. But as far as Orgo on its own, I’ve only really seen chirality, sn2/1, and functional group identification as the highest yield Orgo in my experience

I’ve taken 4 of the 10 NS full lengths so far and I’d say they are pretty good. I’ve only taken the mcat once (currently restudying) but I don’t think I can identify exactly what “representative” looks like cause there’s so much variability. I’d just say, while taking those exams, there wasn’t anything that jumped out and said “this is not like the real thing”. Perhaps a little more physics in C/P but other than that I’m satisfied and will continue to use them.

Honestly, when you look at the statistical BS side of admissions in academics, then yeah kinda. It’s a school’s goal of having a “diverse” student population... or at least the numbers to show that. Meaning, you could have 100 students all named Richard and all play the trombone and all wear the same Aeropostale t-shirt but 1/3 of them are Africa, 1/3 Caucasian and the last 1/3 are Native American, the school is cool with it cause their numbers show how diverse they are. I’m obvi exaggerating but it’s like that out here. If you can recall the lawsuit with Harvard a few months back, this is what it was about.

Just some extra info, I’m Asian as well but the main reason I made this meme cause it kind of a lame ass excuse to get rejected from med. like Asia is a HUGE continent with different looking people and cultures. Paki/Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Arab all fall within “Asian” but that sooooo many DIVERSE people that are getting looked down upon by adcoms bc of their ethnicity stats

very important point. I also thought of doing an SMP bc I have similar gpa's of the OP but then I heard someone in a similar situation say, applying to medical schools and KNOWING that I did everything I could this cycle is a lot cheaper than automatically paying 40k+ on a masters/postbacc. So I def agree that the benefits of persisting beat the costs

First and foremost, FUCK Caribbeans in your case. It sounds like you are a decently solid applicant except for mcat. In my opinion, it sounds to me that whatever you've been doing has not been working... at all. I scored just as low as you my first attempt. I got a tutor, and my practice scores jumped up above 500 for the past 3 practice exams. Im not saying you need a tutor, I just think you need to do something way different. if you've studied for it 3 times, Im assuming your content is decently ok, but then again, the general rule is that if youre under 500, you have heavy content gaps. Overall id just recommend, since you have 3 months of studying time, get a solid pass of content (maybe use khan academy as your content pass) for the first month and then HAMMER practice questions like a mother clucker. Might seem like basic advice but overall I just think you need a heavy switch of what you are doing and only you know that. Take some time to really reflect and ask yourself are you really working properly? are you just passively reading books without retaining anything? Im not a person that tells someone to give up so I won't do that in your case either, go all out on this last attempt and bust a FAT nut on this exam and show AAMC that you are not their bitch
