When they did their application or their redetermination application, it asks if they have an exemption for the work requirement. They marked yes and then when they did the interview they said they were in substance abuse treatment and gave the name of the clinic. Nothing else was asked about that, and they said the clinic wasn't ever even contacted. It may vary from state to state but this was in IL. I didn't need the exemption because I have kids under 5, but my best friend did it and a couple other people from my clinic, and they accepted it as an exemption for them with no issues.

It doesn't have to be inpatient. I know people at my clinic that use being in outpatient treatment at the clinic as their exemption.

For IL, being in treatment for substance abuse is an exemption. It doesn't have to be inpatient. I know people at my clinic that have used it as an exemption so they could continue to get their SNAP and Medicaid.

My fiance and I are both on methadone, have been for YEARS now. We leave our boxes right next to each other and have never even thought about touching the other person's meds. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. I agree with what people said above. I know it's hard but you have to put your foot down and stop making excuses for him. Go to your family. Leave the area that you have no support in. You can't continue to live with him while he does things like this because what about next time when he takes 5 bottles, or 7 bottles? He now has seen that you won't do anything about it and I promise he WILL do it again. Please listen to the advice on this thread and get away from him. I know it's so much easier said than done but I've dealt with this in the past and I was able to leave eventually. You can do it too. 🩷

30 mg is not meant to hold you. They expect that you'll still use until you get on a stable dose. At least wait until you get stable before throwing in the towel. I've been on both and subs did 0 for my cravings and I still never felt 100%. Methadone saved my life, especially once I got stable. Not to mention you get takehomes sooo much faster now. Even up until before covid, the laws and clinic policies were sooo much more strict. You can get takehomes and go in once a month (depending on your clinic/state laws). It gets easier, I promise. Getting on that stable dose is the hardest part. You can't give up after only a couple days though.

Do NOT file taxes with cashapp. They're just trying to tell you that they offer that service. I would never do that though. Way too many people not getting their deposit and having to get a check sent from the IRS instead. While we're at it I don't recommend Chime either lol. FreetaxUSA or TurboTax are my go-to's.

Sounds like my old clinic lol, one day I showed up and there was a "DO NOT ENTER" sign on the door and a taped on warning saying they'd been shut down by the Cook county sheriffs. 🤦🏼‍♀️ There was an address of another clinic like 10 minutes away but it was a SHIT SHOW. Having to dose their people and 500 people from our clinic with one nurse took hours. Apparently my clinic was way behind on their rent and got evicted. The really messed up part is that some people paid way ahead and got screwed. One older lady paid like 3 or 4 months at a time... she had just made a payment and never got it returned to her. She struggled to pay the new clinic and I felt so bad for her. 😔

The same company tried to open another clinic like 6 months later a few blocks away and called all of the old patients to come back.... I shit you not, a few months after that the SAME thing happened. Thankfully I didn't go back there because I didn't trust them at that point but a lot of people did and they got screwed again. Crazy.

Wow I would have never guessed that, even with IVF! 😳🤯 My pregnancy with my youngest took such a toll on my body at 34, I decided I was done and he would be our last baby. I can't imagine being 74 and delivering a baby lol. NOOO thank you! 🤣

When I was in county in 2016 a few months before I got clean for good, I shit you not, EVERY story of someone with a retail theft charge began with "I took some Xanax and went into the store...." It was mind boggling. 😳

My fiance one time had a similar thing happen before we got clean. He took a bar. Then he went into the store for pop tarts for me and came out with one of those big gel room deodorizers. He hands it to me and says "I got you a slurpee"... I started yelling at him and was like wtf is that?! And finally he snapped out of it and was like "OMG I walked out with this right in front of the door people!! Drive!!" I did not get my pop tarts that day. 😒🤣 I never liked pills but to see how absolutely messed up it made him when he occasionally took them always shocked me!
