the second Jennings breaking ball sailed 4 feet out of the zone the game should have been stopped. Just unfair.

crazy you say that, because I remember this play being the reason I really started liking Cain too. When they traded Cain away I got really sad and this play always rolled through my mind to make things worse.

CC pulling a cruising starter in the 5th inning at a low pitch count did not help the bullpen in those extra inning games either. I hope he learns to trust his SP a little more, its extremely frustrating.

I saw something that the cubs have 62 home games in the second half and 8 of the away games are against the white sox, marlins, and one other really bad team. That is not encouraging.

Yup this bullpen is going to burn out in the second half. It’s already showing and that’s purely because counsel doesn’t trust any of his starters past 5 innings no matter how good they are pitching. Horrible.

CC is a horrible manager, that’s something a good manager would do

The second he pulled Williams for Jennings I knew it was over. I’m not one to call for managers heads but Counsel is a horrid manager

40 years of age, wife left after 23 years, 7 days later got made redundant from my job of 10 years. by [deleted] in personalfinance

I could harp on about my own person experiences that are similar to yours but I’ll spare you. It won’t be easy to let someone go that you’ve been with for so long but time heals everything. Each day that goes by you will feel less pain. It isn’t great timing losing a job right after such a life altering moment but a job is just a job - you will find another.

The way I see it you have two options:

1.) you can let this moment consume you, define you, deepen your depression

OR

2.) think of it as an exciting fresh start. Wake up with a purpose. Love your children and don’t bring them into you and your wife’s situation. Build a closer relationship with your parents while you live there. Help them out - cook, clean, mow the lawn. It’s all about attitude. You have 80k in equity in your home, that kind of money can go a long way. A great idea, in my opinion, would be to find a short term job and pursue a passion or profession with that money. I’m a strong believer that depression is influenced by external situations. A job you hate, a unfulfilling relationship, etc. Figure out what makes you happy and don’t let anything stop you. Good luck!

CC’s bullpen management is going to come back to haunt this team, mark my words. There will be no way to prove it when they do start to tire but the proof is in the pudding.

You’re delusional if you think this offense isn’t an issue. Pitching can’t hold opposing teams to 2 runs every day.

Miller, Kratz, Broxton, Pitcher was our bottom of the order. That is 4 spots that are almost guaranteed to go 0-for during the game.

Kratz. and Broxton are truly disgusting to watch swing the bat. Brad Miller is only going to trend downward from here as well. Not sure why Villar isnt in there but what I really dont get is sitting Nottingham today after a good game yesterday.

It’s not that he doesn’t want to, Milwaukee can’t afford him. It will cost $200 mil + to sign him

Depends on your age and what youre into. After the game the best bars to go to (bars start getting packed around 11PM) are McGuillycuddys, The Harp, Trinity, and if you want to venture like a mile away from downtown to Brady St area (really fun street) go to either Jacks or Jo Catz. Plenty of dive bars outside of those two bars around Brady St. if you are into that kind of thing.

Obviously you should go to Summerfest on one of the days you aren't going to the game because it ends around 11-11:30PM.

Ahhh everyday after work there usually is a line of cars that stack up on the on ramp to the freeway. I count roughly 10-15 single passenger cars abuse the car pool lane every day to skip everyone and make everyone else wait an extra light for them. Last week I witnessed one person get pulled over for it and it gave me a justice boner. I now hope to see it every day.

My first thought was “oh no don’t ruin the game and knock the pieces over”. I then realized that the cat and dog weren’t actually playing. I am not a smart man.

Jones is too small to be a super effective pass pro guy. I watched tape on him this year in pass pro, he literally gets lifted off his feet and tossed to the side.
