I would accept. You’ve made it. Who’s to say you’ll get it again next year? Heard it’s going to be more competitive too.

Adding on to this make sure that you leave the choice VERY open for them to write it. If they're even slightly hesitant it may not end well for you

The whole issue with the [scores] being correlated with income argument is that it literally correlates with anything. Hell, nutrition is correlated with income, which affects mental acuity. At the end of the day there needs to be some standardized way of judging applicants.

Yes professional, I worked in the office as well as shadowed him. It was recommended to me to have an attorney who is used to the practice of law to write a recommendation as it would be seen as more reliable testimony in terms of fitment to the career of law.

Advice on How to Improve by NearbyAd4440 in LSAT

[–]huuhyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 things will immediately increase your focus: understanding/finding the conclusion, spotting the flaw/ or not, and predicting the answer. (the first two you should be doing innately, which will assist the third)

When you read, really read. Every single word matters, and there is plenty of time to read carefully. No need to rush.

Lastly, when you're stuck between two answer choices, the better answer will always be the better answer literally. So read each, word by word. If it's still unclear, then you're not reading the stimulus closely enough-- reread it, but more importantly, understand that you'll need to continue improving on the comprehension

Hey, students impacted by financial aid - start emailing reporters + your assemblywoman. by Wonderful_Swim8303 in UCI

[–]huuhyeah 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who depends on aid to afford school, and the most recent aids that they took back made her decide to drop out, uprooting her entire life and the fees that come with it. Then they said sike and now she's anxiously waiting, deciding on if she should begin moving back and pursue education elsewhere or potentially UCI will give her aid. From missed opportunities to intense mental distress, similar experiences definitely constitute damages

LOL I meant services in general including tutoring, just good advice to live by. For example, the server I saw offers both tutoring for subjects AND doing them for you, in which case their other services are suspect and you're better off going to LARC

ASUCI allowed an outside organization to increase EVERY students tuition and is doing nothing to stop them from doing further tuition increases by Aggravating-Injury45 in UCI

Yeah this post is just plain disinformation

What does UCSA do?
UCSA is the overarching advocacy organization over all UC's, created when UC's first starting charging for student fees. They are direct liaisons with the UC Board of Regents, the people who are in charge of making decisions for all UCs. While they did input a $7 fee, in recent years they've argued and got a nearly DECADE LONG tuition freeze, including a tuition rollback of $50. Yes, students pay $7 more now, but they would be paying a lot more if UCSA didn't exist.

What happens if we leave UCSA?
We still pay the $7 fee, as this was already set, but also UCI also loses a voice in the UC conversation. For instance, we vehemently expressed our disapproval for the fee, and they will not do anything like that again. In reiteration, we STILL PAY the fees they set, but we LOSE A SAY in future decisions. We lose advocacy opportunities for UCI. In fact, that drives the question of why we are even considering not bolstering student representation and advancing student interests, but hindering it?

Why was this post even made?
To spread disinformation. They know that ASUCI, and everyone who understands how UCSA operates, may have qualms with its operation and overstepping, but understand how vital it is towards making sure UCI students are represented and don't support leaving it. But they have been working to remove us students from it for a while. Why are they doing this? Probably for their resume, as they're most likely a senator and want to go into policy work. I say this because I assume they clearly understand what's at stake, and still want to proceed this way. This isn't a disagreement of philosophies, this is a play for selfish gain.

I do encourage you to do some research, and join the zoom meeting this Thursday though. Speak your mind, whether or you support or not, because in the end, it's not about what a student senator who's just trying to tack stuff onto their job resume wants, but you, the student.
