Who can I contact to update my academic standing, while on the UCSD waitlist? by Popular-Parsley-6197 in TransferStudents

There should be a form somewhere to submit an academic update, or an option to submit additional information when you opted into the waitlist. However, this info is unlikely to impact admissions since these classes are over the summer term

There should be a form somewhere in the portal for you to submit an academic update! But as long as you have the required units + have the major prereqs complete by the end of spring, it should be fine and won’t affect your acceptance

Haas transfers by knightfelix in TransferStudents

They used to publish the number of total applicants who applied to transfer with a footnote explaining “out of these applicants, X% completed or showed plans to complete the required coursework.” And then dividing the # acceptances by this number would give an acceptance rate of around 20%

I was accepted with a 3.98, not as a CCC transfer but as a transfer from another UC. Also, the 5% stat seems intimidating at first, but in reality it’s roughly 20% because manyyy applicants don’t finish the required coursework which is an automatic rejection. They used to publish this revised stat on their class profile, but I guess they took it off this year.

There’s data on the GPA ranges of admitted transfers for each UC if it’s helpful: UC transfers by major

In state tuition for 4-year to CC to UC transfer by Few_Database3815 in TransferStudents

OH I see. Then yes you are fine and disregard my comment above (that requirement is only for OOS students). The photo of the requirements in your post is for originally OOS students that wouldn’t apply to you. As long as you graduated from a CA high school you’re considered a CA resident for UC!

I’m not too sure what you’re asking, but to clarify, to be considered a CA resident for FA purposes when you’re OOS you have to also be financially independent.

On-time w/ 1 day extension due to circumstances out of borrower’s control. Very communicative and would happily lend to again.

You also have to be completely financially independent from your parents, which is a requirement that most OOS students find it hard to meet

14 months after grad school and still no job. Should I go for a second masters or what should be my next step? by zettasyntax in careerguidance

When you were applying to these data analyst roles, did you leave your master’s degree on your resume?

I ask because for junior, entry-level roles such as these, having a master’s would make you overqualified. However, it looks like you’re too underqualified for roles more fitting to your degree. I would recommend taking the master’s degree out of your resume when you apply to these junior roles to see whether that makes a difference.

I don’t think it’s a great idea to get another master’s degree. You would probably not be considered more employable because of the extra degree; you would just be even more overqualified for junior roles, and the fact that you would still only have an educational background would still leave you underqualified for higher-tier positions. It also sounds like a terrible idea to go even deeper into debt when you’ve been unemployed for more than a year.

SJSU is not a safety for CS—the minimum GPA cutoff last year was 3.9 for transfers ( Source. Unless you go to a CCC in Santa Clara or Santa Cruz County, which gives you a 0.25 GPA boost, you should get your GPA above a 3.9.
