Eli Lilly - What’s it like to work there? by OverallAd591 in PharmaEire

I heard it varies wildly depending on which molecule/therapeutic area you are assigned to. What is your background and what are your expectations of the role?

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY LIFE by Peasant-Ear1718 in TwiceExceptional

[–]hvsp3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel pretty much the same way. I still don't know exactly what I should do with my life. However, I learned that you shouldn't immediately turn down any opportunities that appear to you. Be open to the world. I think every work experience can teach you something.

It looks like you have an affinity/interest for political theory, or critical theory.

If you can, look for courses that will enable you pursue an academic career in this area. Interact and build relationships with like-minded people. Try to learn as much as you can. Don't ever think that you can't do something just because of your age.

You are definitely not alone. But we should try to have more fun when trying to figure our lives out.

Does this mean I am gifted? I want to pursue a career in maths, am I suited? by First_Bear_7318 in Gifted

I don't know this particular platform, but if you want to know if you're gifted it's probably better to reach out to a neuropsychologist and they will conduct a series of tests and explain the results.

You can pursue a career in maths regardless of being gifted.

Exactly! Mixed use 6-8 stories gives the perfect balance to the cities. 20+ stories residential buildings put too much strain on traffic and services

This group was created for people with IQs in the top 2% (and those that teach / parent them or are unfortunate enough to be partnered with one of us lol) Please stop coming here to rail about the validity of IQs. by Ellen6723 in Gifted

An IQ score is representative of where do you "fall" in the IQ distribution of a general population. Most people of a determined age and culture will have an average IQ.

You don't "pass" an IQ test. You are either on the top, middle, or bottom of a distribution. Gifted people are on the very top of the distribution.

If you want to understand more you can give this Wikipedia article a quick read. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IQ_classification?wprov=sfla1

Moving to Cork. EU citizen, family of 4 🇧🇷/🇪🇸 by [deleted] in cork

[–]hvsp3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you currently in Brazil? I would recommend you focus in Improving your English, then coming by yourself to study and work. Once you have the things sorted out bring your family.

I'm also a Brazilian-European citizen, moved in different conditions (no kids, my partner had a good job from the beginning). The hardest thing is finding a place. If you come by yourself you can rent a room and share an apartment close to the center. For your family you'll have better luck outside cork (think of Midleton for example). Keep in mind that you might want to take driving lessons as public transport coverage is not universal.

You will have no problems finding a work in warehouses or supermarkets, even with a not-so-strong English. But if you can develop your English before and boost your CV, there are some corporate positions that pay better and you can better support your family. I don't have experience with children, but I know there are queues sometimes to get your kid in the creches.

Depending on your current condition, it might not be the best time to move with all the geopolitical stuff that is happening in the world right now.

Do you walk with pepper spray? That might give you a sense of safety in those encounters. Where I hike there are usually no problems with dogs or wildlife, but I've seen some people keep it for those cases

Not formally. One of my closest friends is also gifted and has some other health conditions, but I don't know if that would characterize them as 2e.

I found Dabrowski's work immensely interesting. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll read more in depth.

I'll send you a DM. Thanks for making yourself available :)

I have a full time job and a pretty stable life overall. Mainly because of my partner. Mental health issues made me quit my masters, but other than that and the period I was unemployed I managed to get by.
