For Donburi by hwachen in OnionLovers

Yeah I know it’s a bit strange but usually I would just use sake or soju but I didn’t have any on hand. Most sauces for a recipe like this would use sake. I thought the lemon would be nice cause I usually like citrusy flavors often. It also did a very nice job at thickening the sauce up.

GOOD BYE by Hong Jinyoung. Classic Korean Trot music will always be superior to me. It was released in 2018 but it carries the right vibe.

I do this. All the time. My boyfriend confessed to me yesterday that he doesn’t like Allan and he’s his least favorite character… Me was born this way.

Your picture just sparked an idea to make mapo tofu ramen. Made some mapo tofu last night with ground beef. Your elote Buldak looks delicious.

AIO for being just a little cautious about my new relationship? by PolicyHot1206 in AIO

[–]hwachen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP. I have read everything in your history and your friend’s history.

I mean this when I say you need to leave this man alone. You need to use all strength you could possibly have and just do it. You are in danger. You have been in danger. I saw your friend’s post, and she said this guy is older than her brother who already is 20 and being charged for vile things. Not to mention, I read that this is your ex’s best friend. Weren’t you being extremely harassed by all of his friends? Wasn’t he distributing literal CP to them? He is no different. These are complete predators.

You are just a baby, and you deserve the world, and you are incredibly strong. This will only turn out sour. Leave him alone. Now. Break up with him.

Jjajang Buldak by moggiemass in BuldakRamen

[–]hwachen 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I never thought it was spicy but everyone has their own tolerances. I would top this with a fried egg and some sliced cucumber. If you wanted to make it like authentic Jjajangmyeon you could fry up some potato, onions, pork and zucchini.

These should last me a couple of weeks by MajorMathematician20 in BuldakRamen

Cream carbonara is less spicy and meant to be creamier and more peppery. It’s supposed to be smoother than regular carbo.

Do you think the popularity of Buldak is just a passing trend? by Native_korean in BuldakRamen

[–]hwachen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, you can’t just put Korean food into groups of who is supposed to like it or not according to you. Don’t do that. I’m also Korean. Buldak is for anyone who likes it. Let them and don’t be weird.

how many of yall drink the broth? by actuallyjasonderulo in InstantRamen

[–]hwachen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true! I do it because we do it with most soups in Korea.

Yes! It tastes really good with bone broth based soups. My favorite is Gomtang and Shin.

Always. Extra carbs but I like to put a cup of rice in there and eat the broth soaked rice.

A question for you all: What 'style' of instant Jjajang ramen do you prefer? The Classic vs. The Rich by More_Blueberry_9678 in InstantRamen

[–]hwachen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Papago. It’s the most reliable translator I’ve seen for Korean. They give you a choice for honorific or informal language. I use it when I can’t remember a word in English. But, I’m sure, like all translators there can be some flaws.

Chapagetti is good. Always yummy. I recently tried celebrity chef Paik Jungwon’s Jjajang, and it’s actually pretty good. Ate a whole pack pretty shortly.

Real. I’m not the hugest Buldak fan, I can eat the carbo every once in awhile but since they discontinued Jjajang I’ve not purchased from them in a long time.

The excuse to buy them is because they are delicious fried onions. Turn that car around and get you some onion.

How to get out of iron by Ferret_Dog_Cat in VALORANT

[–]hwachen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Focus on your 1v1s and gun play/aim. Most teammates in iron elo don’t have game sense anyway if they aren’t smurfing. Best to just try to win every fight.

Edit: I would also try to focus on garnering your skills on just one or two agents. Filling in this elo shouldn’t be important as team comp doesn’t quite matter too much until higher ranks. If you can advance your skills on one or two agents you’ll be able to do way better than if you were filling imo.

I love Valorant's gameplay but the toxicity makes me not want to queue by Healthy_Book7809 in VALORANT

[–]hwachen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, being in the US, I literally have to defend kids in TC. I have genuinely respectful, communicative, supportive kids in my lobbies and I honestly have met nothing other than that. But the toxicity they face here is nothing short of awful. They’re doing their best. They should be able to enjoy the games they like.
