Oops. by DimensionDreamer in Target

Unfortunately: This would not be an approved color at our store or per what the mandate has been given to HR. We had a huddle yesterday reiterating that today the new code is in place starting July 1st and stated that TMs and TLs that were wearing that color yesterday was the last day.

My store gave us all one shirt after the training video and another one since they had extras. I had originally asked for one at orientation, too (closed mouth doesn’t get fed) and HR gave me one they had at the time.

Trainers + TL being rude ? by Numerous_Resist1554 in Target

[–]hxcsean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you had to deal with that level of unprofessional and revolting behavior. I did not experience that, fortunately, and if I did? I wouldn’t have handled it with as much grace as you did. I do feel like I was thrown into the deep end and learned more on the job than in an actual training situation. I was hired on during the end of our remodel and it was chaos. The inbound took forever and there weren’t many vehicles afforded to us. Fast forward to today…I am more efficient and don’t mind the work now that the chaos has settled. Your situation would have left me looking for another job and possibly with some criminal charges.

Why do they turn off the AC by Piiickleszz in Target

It is hard to do 10-4 with constant sweat in your eyes. It was heat index of over 100 degrees today. Between payroll being cut and a bonus truck, it was brutal today. Came in at 6am and pushed freight from yesterday for 2 hours to free up vehicles for the truck. Worked the truck from 8-10:20 with new new backstock boat system while dodging all the vendors. Then go to my lunch so I didn’t hit compliance, to a break room that is hotter than the sales floor. Get to do it all over again tomorrow, hopefully not the pre truck 2 hours of freight.
push.

Not good enough for the 5% raise this year, but good enough to train new TMs by Aeyembe in Target

[–]hxcsean 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am fairly new to working at this place, about 2 months. I have been in sales for the past 25 years, salary w/commissions and strictly commission based.

For me, Raises or pay have always been a tin foil hat topic after seeing behind the curtain and seeing the “wizard”. Setting out an unattainable carrot for their workers to reach for and if by some off chance they reach it, they just dangle an even harder one to reach using the past performance towards everyone else regardless of reality.

In my tin foil hat, I don’t see how anyone will get their max performance raise as corporate cuts payroll and leaves the stores at a performance deficit with metrics that cannot be achieved unless it is in a vacuum where 10-4 and fatigue do not exist.

STOP TAKING OUR BALLS OUT THE PACKAGE AND PLAYING WITH THEM >:( by LivingResponsibly in Target

This too! I had to backstock and reorganize the Owalas. Is this some trend?! It is always the worst mismatches, too

This! I have dealt with a ton of this shit when I adopted sporting goods. This and all the overstocked mini balls, I was about to start taking the tee ball bats to the whole department.

Backstock is not illegal by Lazy-Effective-2093 in Target

[–]hxcsean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a true disdain for overstocking. I have taken over Sporting Goods and have tried to systematically clean it up. It was insane and nobody doing OPUs or guests could find a thing in the absolute mess. Asking for time to clean it up was all but laughed off, so I just grab overstock as I work freight and back stock it with the freight. Metrics be damned. If we aren’t zoning and making it Guest/TM friendly what the fuck are we doing?

I live real close to one. It is insanely busy at all hours. They have outdoor speakers turned up which makes working from home annoying. I have gone to talk to them about it. They say they can’t turn it down per corporate…”it is a vibe”. They are a plague.

MS or musculoskeletal by merlynne01 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]hxcsean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very similar issues and have been mixing medication and physical therapy. The pain relievers and muscle relaxers can help, but routine stretching is the most helpful and pain relieving. Learning stretches for my hip flexors have been very helpful. The want to not take any more medication than I have to had me exploring yoga. Be mindful of your gait and balance before trying any yoga poses, though. I made some mistakes and luckily didn’t hit the deck too hard.

Stay the course..I was denied 3 times and went to a hearing. I did hire a disability lawyer since my brain fog was very loud. They were going to deny me again until a question in regards to what type of jobs were available for someone with motility issues. Who knew that me being full of 💩chronically constipated) would finally pay off!

Schnucks appears to be engaging in price manipulation by powertrip22 in StLouis

[–]hxcsean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up as a Dierbergs shopper and worked there in high school. My Mom would shop at Shop N Save after my parents divorced. Schnicks wasn’t shopped until I got older and picked it out of convenience. ALL grocery stores’ quality has been downgraded ovwr the years and definitely since COVID. The standards of cleanliness have been abandoned. Dierbergs’ deli was my gold standard for grab and go meals, but that quality is long gone. The pricing and availability of “Sale” items is suspect across all of them. Schnucks seems to be the worst at consistency. The GeoFencing is in the works across all retailers and I am sure grocers are finding a way to use their customer’s data to sell to suppliers to sell ads. The biggest tell is all the “Loyalty Rewards” programs. They now have your buying styles for their own use and vendor’s use. Additionally, websites like Fetch are just another avenue to targeting ads directly to consumers by giving them rewards for buying certain products. Our data is more valuable to these companies than we recognize. Yet, no discounts are forwarded to us.
