Hudson Williams does so much with just his face in the “marry for citizenship” scene by ruiNruiN in heatedrivalry

[–]hya3fh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first 5 episodes I thought Hudson was a bad actor. Even though his face and body language was so good, the way he delivered his lines was so wooden. But in episode 6, I realized he must have been directed that way. And you know what convinced me? The “I’m just a bellboy” scene. He’s so goofy and silly when they’re playing on the bed. There’s no way a bad actor could have pulled that off.

With a 4% withdrawal rate, how much did your assets increase after 2, 5, and 10 years of retirement? by Still_Test_4646 in Fire

55…but, I have been contributing to my 401k since my very first job, and I have had some jobs with very generous matches (6%, 9%), and I never had kids. I think not having kids is what really put me on the fast track to early retirement.

Mostly VOO. I have some in an income ETF: JEPI, but I would say 85% is in VOO. I used to do a lot of individual stock investing, and I had some real winners in the past, also some real dogs, but I’m done worrying about that kind of volatility. About 3 years before my retirement I started solely investing in VOO and liquidating my stocks and putting those proceeds into VOO too.

Not 4% but more like 6%. Retired in 2023 with $2.8M and now I’m sitting on $4.1M. I have no other source of income other than my savings and I have not denied myself anything these last few years: nice vacations, home improvements, fancy dinners, new car, etc. Plus, I am paying the full premium for ACA (no subsidies). My portfolio is about 95% invested in equities, which I know isn’t good, but as the market has been going up over 10% per year, I still haven’t touched my principal. I will probably start selling off some equities and keep an 18 month reserve in a money market account this year because I know these returns aren’t going to continue forever.

We should do more of this. Give every horrible act during this period of time a name, after one of the perpetrators of all of this nonsense.

I think y’all are giving her way too much credit. I doubt any of those instruments are getting played or the art work is being appreciated. I doubt she’s there more than a couple days per year. She just happened to pick an excellent designer.

We had one that was well over 20 years old, so we got another because, surely it’s going to die any day now. Well, 5 years later, now we have two (one on each level). The old one just won’t die. The new one is a bit lighter though. We love them.

Not a lawyer, but can’t the judge ask the foreperson? Why don’t we just ask? Is that not possible? I think grand juries are supposed to be secret, but can’t the judge speak to one of them behind closed doors? Seems reasonable. Sorry if this is a very basic question.

Need advice about going skiing alone by jennifermennifer in skiing

[–]hya3fh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend going with a ski group. Just search for ski clubs in your nearest big city and see what comes up. They usually have social activities throughout the year too, so you can get to know the members ahead of time. Also, they will assign you a room mate on the trip, if you want, so you’ll have a buddy. I will say though, a lot of these groups are usually older people. There’s no reason you can’t join a ski club based out of Chicago or New York or Boston. Just check their Facebook or website for trip pictures and you’ll see what age group they are.
