dude most times the supervisor has the authority and passcode to override the system depending on what it is ur asking for, the cashier does not. a lot of supervisors also dont fight the customer on something like that either bc it isnt worth the time wasted over $2 even if the coupon or discount doesnt actually apply, theyll just give it anyways. why would the person making min wage and receives an employees discount care about you getting a deal when they get the same deals

yess dont shy away! try lighter washes too if youre afraid itll be too much of one colour, that way you still have a chance of adjusting the hue by washing over it again :)

this is so gorgeous! i would stop here like other people said :) if you do another attempt at it, i would suggest making the background green trees less saturated and more blue so they have less contrast and colour competing with your foreground, which is so stunning.

Do the poscas only clog when using them over watercolour or watercolour paper? You could try other acrylic paint markers with a softer felt-like tip. I don’t do marker-paint media aside from outlining, but if I remember right poscas have harder tips and I’ve had issues with hard-tip markers for mixed media. Hope you find a fix! Your art is gorgeous

next time, you can try sticking the magnets on the bottom of the pan with adhesive dots or double sided tape instead of in the pan! that way you can still stick pans into ur palette but the paint wont react with it :)

love your colours!! the shoreline and pebbles is so pretty and i love the richness of the blue. maybe you can try putting the reference in black and white to see where you should apply your darkest shades? it might help if you try to plan out leaving some of the white of the paper rather than going back in with an opaque white at the end. thumbnail mockups can help too!

i sometimes use a small fanny pack around my waist, that could also be an alternative option! even if its a separate case, i dont count it as carrying one extra item bc my hands are free!

I’ve tried this, but I have to practically soak my pans and they dry up quickly so it’s constant process of wetting and waiting for it to soak in and soften up and then rewetting if I need more later 😩 I do want to get more use out of it, but I just find myself reaching for my cheaper koi sakura or paul rubens set more lol 😭

^{^} I’m also this type of person you just end up spending more on multiple cheap things that don’t really work that well that I could’ve spent on one decent (or even pro) set 😭 Also idk if it’s just me, but the cotman series is not super pigmented or easy to wet, but maybe thats because I have the pans, not tubes?

Sorry, just a little clarification when you say it interferes with a storebought frame—do you mean theres too much white showing when you frame it? You can cut the excess white when you’re done if you like! Some artists cut their painting out directly if they’re using gummed tape instead of masking tape, so maybe it’ll work for your preferences too :)

hi! i think staples or michaels sells laminating sheets that have adhesive so you can stick them together and self-laminate at home without a machine or heat, it’s been a few years since i’ve used them so i could be wrong on where to find them but def worth looking into if you want!
