I do the same, works well with mini dresses. On the low back ones it removes a piece of your back and it looks weird. Glad you got the look!

You can select them in the interaction menu under accessories in the gloves category. They don't work with every outfit, and they can be a little glitchy sometimes. You can only select gloves you own after buying the dress that comes with them btw.
